The Walking Dead: The Road to Woodbury

Review:THis book was amazing. It was exactly what i needed. If u get this book make sure you get the rise of the govener. I read that first and it was great how the two came together. This book starts after/during the Rise Of the Govener. Highly suggest this book. Just wish there was another book!!! Read more

What the Hell Did I Just Read - A Novel of Cosmic Horror
What the Hell Did I Just Read - A Novel of Cosmic Horror

Review:I recommend this series to everyone who likes their horror & comedy in equally shocking proportions. You know the book is great when you can't stop reading while simultaneously not wanting the story to end. These books gave me a glimpse into a world that I will return to as often as possible. Dave & John are the anti-heroes of a generation. To the author I say bravo sir, job well done. Read more

Paradox Bound: A Novel
Paradox Bound: A Novel

Review:When a book’s description mentions time travel I’m usually hooked. And because I thoroughly enjoyed Peter Clines’ 14 and The Fold, I enthusiastically jumped into his latest, Paradox Bound (Crown Publishing, digital galley).

This science fiction adventure follows Eli Teague, a young IT tech who has spent most of his life preparing for the chance that he might again run into a time traveling woman he first encountered as a boy. When she does reappear, he is ready and determined to learn mo... Read more

Congo
Congo

Review:Don't let the movie fool you! This is a fabulous book full of adventure and love. Amy, the giant gorilla, is adorable. And the trip that the characters take into the Lost City of Zinj is awesome! You'll feel like you were really there. You fight the battles, you make the choices, you defend yourself, and then... well, I can't tell you everything that happens. But it's definetely worth a read, or two! Read more

Patriot Games
Patriot Games

Review:Has some slow moments at the beginning. Wouldn't call them dull but... That's the only reason why I'm not giving the book 5 stars. It's really good. The plot is very entertaining and the book becomes a page-turner as soon as things unfold. It was to be expected from this title and the author. I am glad I read it. Highly recommended to any fan of action-packed novels. Read more

The Mammoth Hunters: Earth's Children, Book 3
The Mammoth Hunters: Earth's Children, Book 3

Review:I did not particularly love all of the miscommunication, but I suppose it added to the story. This is a love story, but not just a romantic love story, a story of love among people. This is a story of acceptance and belonging. Read more

Assassin's Code: The Joe Ledger Novels, Book 4
Assassin's Code: The Joe Ledger Novels, Book 4

Review:Assassin’s Code was much, much better than The King of Plagues, I’m happy to report. It’s full of pulse-pounding action, tons of mystery, and oodles of snark. I don’t want to give away what the main bad guys are this time, but I will say that Maberry lays it out in a way that you can’t just shake off. I mean, you’ll laugh and go “Riiiggghhht” but by the time he’s done explaining it, you won’t think it’s so ridiculous.

I love Echo Team. Bunny and Top are the second best supporting characte... Read more

Predator One: A Joe Ledger Novel, Book 7
Predator One: A Joe Ledger Novel, Book 7

Review:Another great Joe Ledger read by Maberry. Spoiler alert for those who don't want to know whats in the book.

This one starts with Captain Joe Ledger, Top, Bunny and Sam who are Echo squad for DMS, on a raid. This raid is illegal as hell as its happening on a rocky island off the coast of Chile.

The raid is a success. Well kind of. The man they were looking for is there but he's dead. Again.

As they pull the body out a drone appears. It sends pictures out to all social networ... Read more

The Gap Cycle, Book 1 - The Gap into Conflict
The Gap Cycle, Book 1 - The Gap into Conflict

Review:Science Fiction has earned it's reputation as pulp. When I was a sophomore in High School I thought I was finished with this type of book where everyone evil wears black and everyone good wears white. I suppose that a persons choes in what books they read has quite a bit to do with how honest we want to be about ourselves. People who love the Pulps seem to place themselves into the story, they want to believe that they are as nobel as the J.T. Kirk. I know better, it's not that we are all evil h... Read more

The Idiot [Blackstone]
The Idiot [Blackstone]

Review:If you love Russian Literature or have a passion for Dostoevsky, then this is a must. If not, not so much. The story is narrated and uneven. Characterization is excellent, but characters whom you thought might be central to the story, often become side-lined. Some of the scenes are ponderous and at first you might want to give up, but the personalities and story tighten and grow on you. Some scenes are riveting. Particularly interesting is Dostoevsky's use if his own experience of being condemne... Read more
