Get Jiro: Blood and Sushi
Get Jiro: Blood and Sushi

Review:Get Jiro! is a fun book, written by Anthony Bourdain and Joel Rose and beautifully illustrated by Langdon Foss. A satire of modern food culture, the book takes place in a future LA, where tasteless boors flock to the restaurants of celebrity chefs, and where the search for celebrity food has become society's driving obsession.

Future L.A. is roughly evenly split between the rival territories of two celebrity chefs with differing philosophies - Bob, who focuses on international ingredients... Read more

Jericho Season 3
Jericho Season 3

Review:I was heartbroken when Jericho was cancelled and couldn't wait to read season 3. The quality of the book is outstanding. The paper is thick and glossy with beautiful color. The artwork is awesome. Most of the characters are depicted perfectly but they kind of missed the mark on a couple of them (Mimi, for example). The story is what I'd hoped it would be. It definitely satisfied my need for more Jericho. I'm hoping for a season 4. There is so MUCH more story to tell and a lot of it is relevan... Read more

Shattered Empire (Star Wars (Marvel)) - Journey to Star Wars
Shattered Empire (Star Wars (Marvel)) - Journey to Star Wars

Review:Shattered Empire is a series of loosely connected tales focusing on varying characters from the Original Trilogy era and beyond (including Poe's parents). Great writing, beautiful art, and meaningful tales make this well worth picking up... for both hardcore fans and newcomers alike. I can't say much about the stories as it's quite easy to spoil the experience, but I will say that you will see Leia connect with her mother on a small scale, see Luke in action as a Jedi Knight, meet Poe Dameron's... Castle: Richard Castle's Deadly Storm
Castle: Richard Castle's Deadly Storm

Review:This book was a huge disappointment. It is just a comic book. Extremely disappointed. Do not like at all. Will not be ordering books again. Very confusing array of Castle books on the Amazon web site. Read more

March (Trilogy Slipcase Set)
March (Trilogy Slipcase Set)

Review:An amazing and powerful trilogy. It follows the journey of John Lewis, and recounts his life/experiences throughout the civil rights movement. He mentions all the prominent leaders like MLK and Malcom X. It was truly a moving graphic novel that sheds light on the issues of America that still are problematic to this day. Read more

The Cross and the Switchblade
The Cross and the Switchblade

Review:This is on my required reading list for my kids ... but not until High School. This story is tough, heart-wrenching, heart-changing and most importantly, true. I recommend it to everyone - especially those who think they are too tough, or dirty for God. Read more

Everyone's a Aliebn When Ur a Aliebn Too: A Book

Review:Great read that really makes you think. Clever and incorporates some of his famous tweets. I've been following this guy on Twitter for about four years. Love his humor, but more than that, I love his attitude toward even the simplest ideas and ideals. Read more

Deadpool Kills The Marvel Universe Again (2017) #4 (of 5)

Review:I thought it was an interesting read. Not the best, but surely worth reading. I would recommend anyone else to read if your in a slump for things to read. I think deadpool is too overpowered, but again, it is an enjoyable read to pass time. Read more

Hark! A Vagrant
Hark! A Vagrant

Review:Kate Beaton's style is bound to become a classic, if it hasn't already. I love everything she does, from the historical insights and literary parodies, to the Gorey covers, to the pirate and gangster stories. I'd already read all of her comics on her website, but I am still so glad I purchased this book, because it's a whole different experience to flip through it and also to show it to friends. I should have bought it sooner. Read more

Fables Vol. 2: Animal Farm
Fables Vol. 2: Animal Farm

Review:The first stroy arc of Bill Willingham's Fables was very good, though it was also an introduction to the characters. Now that we are familiar with Snow White, Bigby Wolf, Rose Red, and the other prominent members of Fabletown, the story can serve as the focus. That doesn't mean that new characters aren't introduced (they are) or that there isn't any character development (there is), but Willingham has more room to play with his creations.

Set just after the events of Legends in Exile, J... Read more
