The Dead (new cover) (An Enemy Novel)
The Dead (new cover) (An Enemy Novel)

Review:After accidentally buying the prequel to The Enemy, called The Dead, I figured I'd better read this one first before diving into the next book. I am an avid reader and enjoyed the novel. It was well written, disgustingly graphic, and had an intriguing storyline that'll keep you reading. Recommended for young adults with a passion for sci-fiction. Read more

Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock
Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock

Review:Matthew Quick has presented us with Leonard Peacock, in a story that is emotionally gripping to the last ambiguous page. Leonard lives alone in his suburban New Jersey home: drug addled ex-rock and roller father and model mother selfishly pursuing her own life and dreams that do not include Leonard. Intelligent, Leonard is a philosophical thinker desperate to find hope and happiness in adulthood as his childhood hasn't been full of laughs. His former best friend, Asher, is portrayed with a so... Falling into Place
Falling into Place

Review:I think this a book that someone will either love or hate, within one to two chapters. It is hard, rough mentally but an easy read. It is ideal for kids who feel alone, different, depressed, suicidal thoughts. The world isn't always how you see it. There are others around you that can see things in a better view for you. Highly recommend for kids 14 and up as well as adults with kids in the crucial tween to college years. Read more

Alex, Approximately

Review:I really enjoyed this book! Honestly, it's not one that I would normally pick up on my own, because I'm not much of a contemporary reader, but I'm really glad I read it, anyway! It's reminiscent of a modern day Shop Around the Corner scenario where two people become friends over the internet and don't know who each other is when they meet in real life. It was a fun, unique story that I would definitely recommend! Read more

The Chocolate War
The Chocolate War

Review:A well written book less about the title subject, the chocolate wars, and more about the cruelty, petty and worse that goes on in high schools especially private schools where secret societies can thrive and flourish. Places where small men with smaller minds can taste and wield power they never should be allowed to. I was a bit annoyed where the story ends. We don't find out what happened to one of the main protagonists (he who started the chocolate war) and those involved in the terrible way h... Read more
