Before I Die
Before I Die

Review:I finished this book yesterday. I had tears flowing down my cheeks. It was just a book I had picked up at the library or the thrift store. Or so I thought. I was wrong. It is a tear-jerker but it is also a really well-written book. It is about a 16-year old girl dying of leukemia and trying to do all the things she's never done but wants to - before she dies. It is a YA book, I think, but it is one of those that crosses genres and age groups. It is real. It is open. It is a book I will never for... Read more

Dirty Blood (Dirty Blood series Book 1)
Dirty Blood (Dirty Blood series Book 1)

Review:There was an incessant worry over the main character from others as they acted on their own accord, regardless of her own opinions that personally bothered me. However, the main character had shared the same annoyance and vocalized this issue, improving the book substantially. Aside from this, the book held an interesting amount of humour, romance and action that had kept me indulged in the novel, from start to finish. Read more

Grasshopper Jungle
Grasshopper Jungle

Review:GRASSHOPPER JUNGLE by Andrew Smith is perhaps the most bizarre, alarming and uniquely-crafted book I have ever read. Equal parts disturbing and insightful, it will both disturb you and make you think.

A word of warning: This book is not for those who are easily put off by foul language, topics such as homosexuality, drugs, and other controversial society issues and descriptive depictions of sex and gore. If I were to give this to a young adult to read, that young adult would have to have ... Read more

Better Nate Than Ever
Better Nate Than Ever

Review:I knew upon getting Better Nate than Ever that the book was going to be cute, with the author well versed in the world his subject lives in and the cover art great, but I had no IDEA the level of preciseness that this book would achieve when talking not only about theatre kids, but kids in general AND their families and friends! Yes, the Broadway stuff is truthful and funny, but the family dynamics are what really hit home for me and that was not what I was expecting. Federle takes the grown-up ... Read more

The Crank Trilogy: Crank; Glass; Fallout
The Crank Trilogy: Crank; Glass; Fallout

Review:Ellen Hopkins never disappoints. I have yet to get a book from her that I haven't liked. I never want to put her books down, and the way she puts words together never ceases to amaze me. I'll buy very book she writes because I absolutely love each one. Read more

The Treatment (Program)
The Treatment (Program)

Review:3.5 stars

The Treatment was one of my most anticipated reads of 2014. I absolutely loved The Program and I was dying to know what happened to Sloane and James. When I first started reading The Treatment I seriously questioned my sanity. This is the writing I liked so much? These are the characters I fell in love with? Having read The Program almost a year ago the details aren’t completely clear in my mind, but I didn’t think my memory was that bad.

My favorite part about The Progra... Read more

Hidden (Firelight)
Hidden (Firelight)

Review:I finally got to finish up the Firelight series and lovely world of dragons that Sophie Jordan has created. Vanish left off pretty much right BEFORE a cliffhanger, so Hidden really jumped right into the action.

Normally when I'm reading a book, if there's a love triangle then I try to pick up on how the main character really feels. And whoever the MC is truly in love with is the one I'm rooting for, but guys I don't know why I'm so resistant with this series. It's OBVIOUS who Jacinda want... Read more

The Saga of Cirque du Freak - Book 3 - Tunnels of Blood
The Saga of Cirque du Freak - Book 3 - Tunnels of Blood

Review:The main characters are Darren Shan who is a half vampire, Mr. Crepsley a full vampire, Debbie who is Darren Shan's human girlfriend, Evra who is Darren's snake-boy friend, Murlough who is an evil vampanese.

The setting of where each character lives throughout most of the story is: Darren lives in different apartments with Evra the snake-boy and Mr. Crepsley his father figure (not in the beginning though), Debbie lives in an apartment that is next to Darren's, and Murlough, the evil vampa... Read more
