Review:Ellen Hopkins never disappoints. I have yet to get a book from her that I haven't liked. I never want to put her books down, and the way she puts words together never ceases to amaze me. I'll buy very book she writes because I absolutely love each one. Read more
Review:I have had the friend dance with the monster. Hide from the monster, and sadly the monster has always won. Glass makes me want to know more of what happened to Kristina, and I can only hope Bree was left in the jail. Read more
Review:The book was all right. I would recommend this book to people if you like mafia movies because the book was a good mafia book. Another thing I like was the characters it was three main characters: Vince, Kendra and the father named Anothony. Vince was more Like a fearless type of person. Kenra like a prep stuck up. And you have Anothony the killer that didn't care who he killet. I found these characters very interest and fun. Read more
Review:It's an awesome sequel. However, I hate when sequels have a change in narration. It works here, but it's distracting. I really wished it was all from his viewpoint, but this sequel was missing something. After the first book I was left waiting for the sequel. Now? I really could care less about the next book. The ending should have been a good cliff hanger, yet I'm just left thinking really? Did that really just happen? It's outrageous. Read more
Review:Croak started off pretty slow, but I found myself really enjoying it by then end. At first everything seemed really predictable. I just thought the story would end up being about Lex's adventures as a Grim over the summer but it ended up being a lot more exciting than that.
This book is definitely an acquired taste. If you're not a fan of sardonic characters then you should probably resolve to never read Croak since it's chock-full of them. I find these types of characters to usually only... Read more
Review:This is a work of YA contemporary fiction. Daniel is a seventeen-year-old Korean-American poet who, against his traditional parents’ wishes, does not want to attend Yale or become a doctor. Natasha is a science-minded undocumented immigrant from Jamaica who’s been living in New York City since age 9, but is about to be deported that night. A series of coincidences and serendipitous events continuously bring Natasha and Daniel together throughout the day. Daniel knew from first sight that she wa... Read more
Review:While I, mostly, enjoyed reading the series I found the writing to be somewhat inconsistent. It felt like the author was writing one, or more, books at the same time. Two instances, in particular, stand out. One where she says Jeremy is interning at his father's company, but in another book he was a banker. The second one was so obvious, I question whether it was the same author. In the first chapter of the first book Belly says her brother Steven taught her to whistle really well and how pro... Review:Have you ever watched The Island? It’s an exciting summer blockbuster that doesn’t make you think to hard. The foreshadowing looms shortly, only to break into obvious reveals. Obvious plot threads weave throughout the storytelling, yet it is still a lot of fun to watch.
This book was a lot like that. Nothing about it was groundbreaking or unique, but the entire reading experience was a good time. Sure, the dystopian future thing has been done to death in every incarnation by now. Sometime... Read more
Review:TRIGGER WARNING:Graphic Bullying
Predictable
This story was nothing unique, in my opinion. I found much of the plotline to be predictable and common for this type of story and the things the main character, Jude, did were very typical for that of a young female protagonist in this scenario. There were obvious items that were designed to be ‘plot twists,’ but they were really easy to pick up on if you were paying any attention.
Main Character
Jude, the main character, was real... Read more
