Family
Review:I have so many conflicting feelings about this book, and I find myself more and more indecisive the more distance I have from it.
I LOVED the first third or so. It was everything I dreamed. Dimple and Rishi are ADORBS and their friction at the beginning reminded me of "Bride and Prejudice" in all the right ways. I was locked in and ready for a fun, brimming battle of attraction and wit, simmering up to a romantic ending. But... that wasn't actually the way it went?
Some things sadl... Read more
Review:If you're okay with a severely disappointing ending, go ahead and check out Allegedly.
A good story with a lot of wasted potential. (Spoilers)
This book had a lot of potential, rich with complex relationships that mimic the darker side of reality. As you read, you become more and more sympathetic for Mary and the constant line of struggles she suffers trying to keep her baby. Eventually you begin to wonder where her break is as her court case against her mother takes off, but she loses... Read more
Review:Without merit
Without merit was uniquely different. I had no idea where it was going to take me. I was really like “come on give me a clue.” I was told my many keep reading, and I was so glad I did. The Voss family is strange but what family isn’t.
I really felt for Merit. Her character was one I could relate to. She was struggling with everything in her day to day life. It took an outsider to have her really take a good look at herself. To help her see the bigger picture so to sp... Read more
Review:The Haunting of Sunshine Girl is what I would call a fluffy horror book. Aimed at younger readers, it would be the perfect balance of horror and humour.
I love creepy books that will scare me, and while I didn’t find this one to be particularly creepy, there were a few moments that surprised me, with paranormal twists that I didn’t expect. Going into Sunshine Girl, I knew it was going to be about a girl at a haunted house, but the luisearches who banish ghosts made it really unique.
Review:Light read, nothing really ever happened in the book. Never felt like Matt was in danger, he spent the story enjoying the many wonders of Opium, and adjusting to the role of king. The author could have delved into the complicity of good and evil and how they are intertwined but, instead glossed over all that and went for the happy ending. Read more
Review:This was a great read for most anybody. The heroes are more unpredictable than the villans and it made for a work of genious. You'd have to read it to understand what I mean.
The main character is a average joe named Jack. Jack becomes the apprentice to a looney bard that can cast spells and mess with the force of nature, but Jack's not that good at it. Anyway it turns out the bard was wanted by a troll queen and soon Jack's village is invaded by a bunch of berzerk vikings under the que... Read more
Review:From the very beginning, the length of this novel was intimidating. At times, particularly in the middle, it felt like 1,000 pages the way I was trudging through those sections. That being said, I did really enjoy the story as a whole. I’m quite picky when it comes to fantasy authors and their ability to create a believable and immersive world. Nova did a great job with setting up the land and its inhabitants. In addition to the creation of a culture for each of the unique groups (fae, witch, hu... Read more
Review:The pictures are horrible. The book was published in the 80's.
There are much, much better books on idioms:
Tedd Arnold- Parts, More Parts, Even More Parts
Super Silly Sayings That Are Over Your Head, Catherine Snodgrass
There’s a Frog In My Throat, Loreen Leedy

Review:This book was too similar to _Speak_ by Laurie Halse Anderson. I loved _Speak_. It was fresh and original, and Anderson let us know right away that something traumatic happened to the main character. We don't know what it is, but we instantly feel sympathy for her and want to find out more. But in Annabel's case, all we know is some kind of altercation happened between her and her friend, Sophie. Annabel lets Sophie walk all over and does nothing to change the opinion of the rest of the sch... Read more
