A Gripping Serial Killer Thriller (Violet Darger FBI Thriller Book 3)
A Gripping Serial Killer Thriller (Violet Darger FBI Thriller Book 3)

Review:Weaving in our favorite topics of violence, serial killing, and prostitutes, book three tops off the series. A nonstop action story from beginning to end making it difficult to put the book down. It's not my favorite genre so I find it difficult to rate without bashing the entire genre but the fast-pace action makes it much more enjoyable. Makes it easy on my ADHD.

The authors of this novel had given me a free copy in exchange for an honest review. Read more

Forty Signs of Rain (Science in the Capital Trilogy
Forty Signs of Rain (Science in the Capital Trilogy

Review:The Mars trilogy established Kim Stanley Robinson as one of the more thoughtful writers on the politics of the near future. Eschewing melodrama for rigorous detail that makes his tale all the more convincing, Robinson uses the everyday drama of science policy wonkery as the anchor against which to set the outrageous consequences of climate change. Although short on out-and-out action, it is long on sensitive characterization, making you care about what will happen in the next two instalments -- ... Read more

A Most Wanted Man

Review:Once again Mr. le Carre provides an interesting read, well crafted to the times in which we live. But, his appended, moving and insightful tribute to Phillip Seymour Hoffman makes this a very special experience. Read more

Protect and Defend
Protect and Defend

Review:This book fuses two sagas--Kerry Kilcannon of the Kilcannon family and Chris Paget's courageous judge Caroline Masters. So, given such great examples of Patterson's formidable reservoir of charcters, why does this story in the final analysis fall into the stale cliche of a contemporary hot-button issue--that of abortion rights? A new President has to come up with an appointee for the Supreme Court, and it turns out to be none other than Aunt Caroline (Judge Masters has a beloved niece who's actu... Read more

A Dan Roy Thriller (The Dan Roy Series Book 1) - Hidden Agenda
A Dan Roy Thriller (The Dan Roy Series Book 1) - Hidden Agenda

Review:How someone can spend this amount of time writing a book and have it published with so many glaring mistakes amazes me. Another author I read recently stated that mistakes "take the reader out of the story" and that is so true. That is what happened to me very early on when Dan suggested he might have to rappel from and Apache helicopter. Really. The safety "switch" on a gun, a 5.56 Sig 226. He falls off a ladder flat on his back with a gun tucked in the back of his belt, a 737 Jumbo jet? The li... Read more

Night Passage (Jesse Stone Novels Book 1)
Night Passage (Jesse Stone Novels Book 1)

Review:I've collected all 10 of the Robert Parker Jesse Stone books. They are all great. I can just picture Tom Selleck talking because of the TV shows of the same name, even though they are not taken from the book titles. A really great read. I like continuing with a lot of the same characters in book series, it feels like the books is not ending. Read more

Robert B. Parker's The Hangman's Sonnet (A Jesse Stone Novel)
Robert B. Parker's The Hangman's Sonnet (A Jesse Stone Novel)

Review:Coleman has done a good job keeping this entertaining series going. He has a good sense for Parker's characters (including Spenser, who has a cameo here), and has developed Jesse Stone in interesting ways. His plots are a bit convoluted, and this new book is no exception, but that doesn’t detract seriously from the pleasure of a literate, intelligent crime story. Read more

The Mark of the Assassin (Michael Osbourne Book 1)

Review:I recently bought a book from Neil Rutledge , book seller. This book is unique in that it is a collectible because it is First Edition. The book arrived very quickly and the packaging was absolutely the BEST I have ever seen on a shipped purchase.
This dealer is truly exceptional and I will definitely be purchasing from him again in the near future because he is an outstanding book seller.

I am also very pleased with the pristine condition of this book.

Bravo Mr. Rutledge. Read more

The Messenger (Gabriel Allon Series Book 6)

Review:Another Silva masterpiece. To use an overused expression, this book really was very hard to put down. I had to work some at keeping the Arab names straight but read the book so quickly that it never became a problem. Read more

Prince of Fire (Gabriel Allon Series Book 5)
Prince of Fire (Gabriel Allon Series Book 5)

Review:I'm following in sequence all the Gabriel Allon novels and love how the Daniel Silva creates the atmosphere that the reader is actually 'involved'. I know these books are fiction but the research for writing all the action, planning, etc. is mind-boggling. So real. I actually am better understanding what I read and hear on the news now and what I have read while going to classes for school. Can't wait to see what comes next. I'm reading Moscow now (started two days ago) and noticed I'm 70% ... Read more
