Review:I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The story was made more interesting with tidbits of local history. I've lived in the Savannah area for 20 years but still learned a lot from reading Mr. Keeler's novel. Can't wait to read more.... Read more
Review:From the very beginning, I could feel the sadness setting in and couldn't put the book down until the conclusion. It was well-written and kept me wanting to find some kind of hope in this tragic tale. And, as in some cases, there comes a bit of solace. I did enjoy this book even while shedding a few tears. Review:This book is somewhat interesting in that it gives a historian a chance to turn his perspective forward and envision the future. And some of Carr's prophecies are thought-provoking (though not necessarily original) and cause for a "hmmmmmm...", particularly knowing they were constructed pre-9/11.
However, the characters are one-dimensional and hastily developed, the "technology-may-be-harmful" message is delivered so forcefully that it becomes obnoxious despite its air of truth, and ultim... Read more
Review:Stopped reading halfway through. The narrator was so corny and the entire scene with the geek in the library was hokey! Why the hell would you ask a complete stranger for murder sites in a library? Why is she so dumbstruck with computers in this day-in-age? It's not believable. Don't waste your money. Read more
Review:While the characters of Win Gerano, his Nana, D.A. Monique Lamont, and Detective Sykes are very well drawn and interesting, the plot/mystery of this book is not. Just when I thought we were getting to the end of the 'exposition' portion of the book, we were having the whodunit explained to us...as well as the political machinations behind it. Also of annoyance: the fact that almost every character has a nickname, and Win has two!
I was just confused the whole time I was reading this book, and... Read more
Review:Patricia Cornwell kind of makes you feel like one of the family in her books. This one was nail biting and hard to put down. It seemed like everyone was against Kay Scarpetta, even right down to Marino and I love how she keeps her readers guessing as things twist and turn. It was a great read I loved it and highly recommend it. Read more
Review:This book is much different than the others. It felt like a very rushed ending. It seemed to start a story line and just leave it. I didn't like how the narrator kept jumping from person to person. There was not a good flow in this book. Read more
Review:A baffling mystery that held my attention and keep me guessing, combined with amusing leading characters, whose every interaction was a laugh a minute.
A ballsy idea for an author to write himself as a main character in his own murder mystery, but Anthony Horowitz pulled it off magnificently.
This past June ‘Magpie Murders’ hit all the right notes for me, and upon finishing I was sorely tempted to move straight on to ‘The Word is Murder’ but decided to save it for a later date, fel... Read more
Review:After reading this book, and my experiences with past Clancy books, it makes it hard for me to believe that he doesn't still live on through these adventures. There is Clancy on every page and I rated all his books with five stars. A spell binding read. Read the entire book in two days. Couldn't put it down. (I read electronically with my Kindle fire!)
