Thrillers
Review:Such an upset. Minor spoilers ahead.
The first book was brilliant. Regardless of the douchey negativity Vandermeer expresses toward H.P. Lovecraft he quite obviously took cues from his writing and ideas of cosmic terror which made Annihilation so wonderfully scary and mysterious. Authority, the second book in the series, slowed the pace down but was still great in its own way, playing out more like a spy novel with the scares and mystery peppered in. But this third entry is a disaster fr... Read more
Review:Well written and fairly fast moving. This book is not as gripping as Ludlum at his peak, but this author is just getting started. I enjoyed the relevance to today of biological weapons and terrorists. Pike is a good protagonist. Read more
Review:I have thoroughly enjoyed all of the Pike Logan series. The writing is not great classic writing but for this genre it is fantastic, authentic and thrilling. I am waiting excitedly for the next in the series. Read more
Review:I like this guy's style. Good dialog, great action, and a pretty good story to boot. The only points I can dock are the mistakes about GPS, but he's not an expert on satellites like I am. Bit he could have done that on purpose, so he gets a bit of a pass. I also assume that his being an ex Grunt means he was stationed at Fort Carson at some point, so I forgive him on that too.
This Puke Logan novel is another solid foray for the Taskforce involving a self important traitor who wants to ... Read more
Review:Brad Taylor's " Enemy of Mine" makes a third time a charm. The writing, editing and all things come together to make a fine read. He is now getting up there wit Lee Child, Vince Flynn and Brad Thor.Ditto's on a great thriller. Pike Logan is great character. Read more

In Pike Logan, Kurt, Jennifer, and the Taskforce, Taylor has created a realistic and gritty storyline reminiscent of what you would have expected from Clancy, the great one, in his prime. Far from the sterile world where everything goes well and everyone goes home, this is the real world of Murphy's Law, and there is a fair amount of political intrigue and behind the scenes dealing thrown in to further complicate things. Also, Taylor is ... Read more
Review:SO MUCH arguing between a combat pro and an annoying female "sidekick." I wanted to slap her! That may have been the author's intent but it caused me to skip pages to get through it. Great storyline but the ending is corny and silly. Read more
Review:This book was better written than his first and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Jennifer did wear on me somewhat. The book was not too technical, I've never been in the military and had zero problems with it. Can't wait for the next one to come out. Read more
