Review:The book is nice, but it leaves more questions then answers. Nothing about Celestia and Luna's parents, Starswirl's cameo is nice but feels forced, the Griffon and Zebra's appearance feel thrown away....just to name a few.
Positives? Nice to see what SOME of their past looks like and the Mane 6 entries are a bit entertaining. (Especially Pinkie's; Surprise.)
Nice effort, but it comes up short in the end. Only recommended if you have everything else FIM related. Read more
Review:i bought this for my daughter as i remember loving it as a child. I love the story still as much as i did then - my daughter who is now 7- found the idea of Sylvester being away from his family as a rock very worrisome but she still askes for it over and over. still a favorite in our library of bedtime picks! Review:Once again, I didn't expect the Bearenstein Bears to prove so useful but this sweet story about how the bears pull out of the cave to move to their treehouse went over well. I was able to show my son our new home that's outmoded and in need of renovations and repairs which helped him to cut through the scary/ugly home in front of him and envision a better place for us once the work is/was done. Granted, my child's also seen us remodel a few rooms in our present house but this book really helped ... Read more
Review:It's a nice book, but the description seems inaccurate. It isn't really about adjusting to a new baby. It's more along the lines of Brother Bear growing up and needing a big boy bed. Not what I was looking for. Read more
Review:I absolutely love Divya Srinivasan's illustrations!
We purchased this after "Little Owl's Night" was such a hit with our 1.5 year old. We're always on the lookout for books that he loves, AND that we enjoy reading with him (there are some very annoying kids books out there, that I shamefully admit I don't want to read when my toddler brings them to me). I'll happy read Little Owl's Day over and over again, though - the illustrations are lovely, and the story is easy to read (or make up yo... Read more
Review:Are the carrots really creepy, or do they represent the scary things children confront in their lives? The orange shapes on black and white ground are fun and effective. The uncomplicated story encourages children to think and shows them positive action when you are afraid. Then the story has a funny ironic twist at the end! What a super book for all ages! Read more
Review:I was first introduced to Bird Language by Jon Young 7 years ago. Learning to understand bird communication has changed my life in so many positive ways. This book manages to neatly and concisely compile an extraordinary amount of ancient knowledge and wisdom, and serve it in an easily digestible manner. All that, and it's fun to read! I highly recommend this book for anyone, not just birders! Read more
Review:Wemberly Worried is a great book for any student starting a new school year! Also, it's a great fit book for children who worry. Kevin Henkes is a wonderful author for many reasons, and this book is one of his best! First, this book can teach students not to worry about things they can not control. Read more
Review:...and he said "wow" because that was just about all you could say... I don't get it, didn't like it and there are way too many words in the book for the level of the content / age of the kid targeted. Would not buy again. Read more
Review:I really like Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse, and I also love other books by Kevin Henkes. But my husband and I agreed that Lilly comes across as too harsh and bratty in this book. I don't like exposing my four-year-old to Lilly's cruel comments towards her brother. I don't want him to view her behavior as acceptable and humorous for fear that he will try it out on his younger sister. Read more
