Are the carrots really creepy, or do they represent the scary things children confront in their lives? The orange shapes on black and white ground are fun and effective. The uncomplicated story encourages children to think and shows them positive action when you are afraid. Then the story has a funny ironic twist at the end! What a super book for all ages!

I bought this one for Halloween. Just the right amount of suspense for a pre schooler. It was perfect when the lights went during Hurricane Sandy and we had our own tunk, tunk, tunk! We have since read it every night.

This book is perfect for teaching children about reading comprehension. Not only is the story itself cute, but the illustrations are awesome and very important to the plot. My 3 year old daughter loves loves loves this book, especially when I read the part where Jasper rabbit thinks the creepy carrots are in the bathroom when brushing his teeth. It gets her jumping every time, no matter how many times we read it and she knows what to expect.

This is a wonderfully illustrated book, but parents of little ones beware, my 2-year-old got really scared of this book and I suppose we won't be reading it until she gets a little bit older.

**EDIT**
My daughter, now 3 going on 4, absolutely ADORES this book. It is her favorite bedtime story and she asks to read it together almost every night since she turned 3 in August of last year (2015). She has it memorized and even does scary music during the scary parts--she still gasps at all the surprises even though she knows what happens. Haha, this is a favorite. My original title was "Wouldn't Recommend for Toddlers", but I take that back. Maybe not under 3, but every child is different, and I also read with a lot of voices and articulation--so it probably could have been too much for a two year old back then. Haha! She loves it now!

Children of all ages will delight in Jasper Rabbit's antics as he tries to escape the carrots from Crackenhopper's Field. The carrots have started following Jasper everywhere. What do the carrots want from him? Why won't they leave him alone? This fun story with great illustrations is a terrific read aloud. This one is too good to miss!

My grandchildren and I read this clever story together, mornings, while waiting for the school bus. The text and pictures interest both the 8 and 5 year old. It isn't always possible to find a book that they both find entertaining. The illustrations add much to the mystery. Is the bunny really seeing or imagining his stalkers?

We checked this book out at our local library and our two-year old loves it so much. We had to purchase it. The story is great and the illustration is very nostalgic to a 50's sci-fi. Every night my son will ask to read "Creepy Cah-wots."

Our grand daughter went home last weekend after reading about the "creepy carrots" multiple times at our house. Her enthusiasm shared with her parents included an especially entertaining rendition of her saying "creeeeeeepy carrot". You know you have found a good book when your child wants to read it over and over and over!!
