Inspiring Tales of Animal Friendship & Four-Legged Heroes

Review:My grandchildren immediately opened this book, enjoyed the pictures and were curious to learn what was happening in each caption. They were able to talk about other animals they had encountered that could do some of the "tricks" the animals in this book performed. Read more

Library Lion
Library Lion

Review:"Library Lion" is a wonderful story for children as young as two through primary grades. Meant to be read aloud, this story has an engaging plot, wonderful pictures, and many interesting details with great vocabulary about the library and how to appropriately use it. I can be read using different voices for the Librarian and her assistant. My grandchildren all LOVE the story, and ask for it by name whenever I visit. Read more

I Like Bugs (Step-Into-Reading, Step 1)
I Like Bugs (Step-Into-Reading, Step 1)

Review:Fun read for story time and early readers. This book has nice colorful, detailed illustrations and introduces readers to various bugs through facts and pictures. This book is read and enjoyed daily. Now that it is summer, we spend time searching for and identifying some of the bugs in this book while playing in our yard, on walks and at the park.

I would have liked the book better if proper names or identification had been given/listed for the various bugs as well. Ex: Lady bugs are the o... Read more

Happy Birthday, Bad Kitty
Happy Birthday, Bad Kitty

Review:Happy Birthday Bad Kitty written by Nick Bruel is a very funny book about how Bad Kitty's birthday turns out to be just another wild day for her. She did not want to get out of bed to have her birthday party until she finds out there will be cake and presents. But she did not get the presents she wanted or like the cake. My favorite part was when all the cats chased the puppy and hung him up like a pinata because they thought he stole all of Bad Kitty's presents! Bad Kitty and her friends remi... Read more

Gossie: A Gosling on the Go! (Gossie & Friends)

Review:My grandson loves these Olivier Dunrea books so I had to get a set for my new granddaughter too. There's not much reading per page which is great with little ones who like to help turn the pages and these gooslings are so cute, who could resist! Read more

Sheep in a Jeep (board book)
Sheep in a Jeep (board book)

Review:Beautifully illustrated book. My 3year old likes it. For that age pictures are the key for making a child attracted to reading books. Since there are not that many words, my son likes to create his own story or comment on pictures. Read more

Good Night, Gorilla (Picture Puffins)
Good Night, Gorilla (Picture Puffins)

Review:Every home with a child should have this book. We love to point out the little details, such as the Ernie toy in the cage of one animal. When we get to the climax, as the zookeeper's wife wakes up to the sound of the animals in her bedroom, an energetic "Uh-oh!!!" usually gets participation from the child being read to by the second reading. We like the board book format best -- stands up to lots of travel and use. A great little gift. Read more
