Review:Brennan's deep spiritual insight speaks to my skeptical and pragmatic nature. I have a copy many places for myself and refer to it as I would the Bible primarily for hope; but I receive that hope in a more real here and now way. I have also given it as a gift to people I knew would embrace it as I have and they have felt the same about the book's spiritual power, as the "balm of Gilead" Read more
Review:I have long wondered about Rich Mullins, so bought this book to round out my order and get free shipping from Amazon. I was disappointed. I gather that it does a good job of what it does, but it doesn't do what I expected. I was looking for a biography of Rich Mullins, and while this book does contain some of that you have to dig it out from among the ten devotionals the author offers. I do understand that the devotionals represent important aspects of life that Mullins'held dear, but I quit ... Read more
Review:I really liked this book. It definitely veers from main-stream Christianity and is at times a little hard to understand his view point, but overall very powerful and thought provoking in terms of how you might view/experience God/Jesus and live an authentic vs "religious" life, impacting you and those around you. This is the first book of Brennan Manning's that I have read, and I plan on reading more! Read more
Review:The book examines key scripture passages to reveal the type of life needed to satisfy the scripture and achieve its definition of love. An unattached, nonjudgmental, courageous open awareness toward all life without regard to protected ego programming which delivers anxiety and tension instead of the safety it promises. This requires an unflinching, scientific eye toward examining your behaviors and that of others so that you see the effect of filtering beliefs and programmed thought. Suggested ... Read more
Review:Absolutely the best book I've ever read! One you will want to reread and refer back to many times. I am amazed at how we forget who we are to God and our absolute rights we have as Christians. We could truly change the world if believers would truly walk in this truth. I always give a book to family memebers each Christmas and this will be the one for this year. Great book! Read more

Review:I would recommend this book to anyone that is seeking balance in their life. I have put the principles of this book into my life and still continue to grow from it daily. Even though I know a lot of the virtues taught in this book, Sharma does a great job with giving us steps on how to begin implementing it into our lives. This bookstore was awesome and the book was in perfect condition and had the fastest delivery from Amazon that I have ever received! Read more
Review:I may be writing this review a little prematurely, as I am only halfway through this book, however...I have already purchased additional copies for my friends. I have underlined, dog-earred and referred to various pages on several occassions. When the Heart Waits gives valuable insight into mid-life. It shares information as to the benefits gained in "being still". Waiting is not "doing nothing". It is both "passive and passionate". As many of us struggle with "what should I do next", ofte... Review:For parents new to trying to cover their children in prayer this book is a must read. It helped me to put God's will for my children first in my prayers instead of my own. It also expanded what I was praying over for my children and helped me learn how to pray more in depth and detail. Read more
Review:I am "single-again" having been divorced now for two years. It is refreshing to hear Mandy's advice and words of wisdom to even people like me who feel the shame of divorce, but nonetheless find themselves looking for a lasting, God-honoring love. She is funny, clever with her words, and gives lots of tidbits for your bathroom mirror. Highly recommend her book. Read more
