Review:The adventure of Amel and Raolcan continues and this was the most frustrating book of the first four. Fortunately, I was lucky enough to be able to continue immediately.
Firstly, Amel faces incredible amount of unfairness in this book, even from the people who have showed her kindness previously. It is infuriating to see how people change so easily and disregard Amel and what she has to say. She is nothing if not persistent, honourable and honest. She is also by far the bravest and strongest ... Read more
Review:This book has a lot of interesting information about Saint Michael and there is a very nice collection of prayers in the book too. I really enjoyed reading this book, and will continue to use the information and prayers. This is only one in the "Life and Prayers" series. I own some, but look forward to downloading more in the future as more become available. Since my childhood I have always enjoyed stories of the lives of the saints. These books are a treasure to own and the prayers are an a... Read more
Review:I'm a huge fan of Steinbeck and couldn't believe I hadn't read "The Pearl" in high school. So, I bought it at Amazon and wasn't impressed with the book. While some of the author's observations about people, human nature, and towns/communities are really good, this book is somewhat blah. It's based on a Mexican folk tale, so I can't fault Steinbeck for the lack of plot, but something just seems to be missing. I also didn't like the end, it was somewhat gory and made me think "ewww" just like... Read more
Review:If you like stories about trained dogs, this is one to read. There were a few areas that were far fetched but overall. Not a distraction.. Would have liked to see a lead in to the starting setting, but novel was still interesting to me. Read more
Review:Again, because of my twisted sense of humor, I enjoy keeping this book out on my coffee table! It is interesting though, how many people won't look at it as if it's a dirty book, you need to convince some despite the title... Read more
Review:Everybody's complaining about the 99 cent price proint, which I think is quite reasonable. I'm paying $3.62 though, which is a bit much. Is this because I'm signing in from Europe? This concept will not work for me this way, which is a pity, because I love the whole Dickensian idea.
About the episode, having just read Old Man's War, which I loved, it's a bit more of the same. But given how I liked OMW, that's positive :-) Read more

A truer Samurai has yet to breath the air of life. It's a shame the man isn't alive anymore. We could all learn alot from this Soul. Both warfare and life in General. A very Wise one indeed. Read more
