Patient-Centered Collaborative Care - Single Volume (Ignatavicius

Review:this med surg nursing book is so densely populated with vital information, one would wish to carry it every were I go, so that in lull times and in studying time I can always be on the cutting edge with the latest info, however I did not realize this book also comes in volumes for easier transport, this is my only problem Read more

BLS for Healthcare Providers
BLS for Healthcare Providers

Review:The book came in perfect condition and included a student cd for video learning. The content itself is a bit redundant and tends to jump around. This makes learning, the exact process of CPR, like trying to follow a maze. "Dumbing down" the presentation of the processes in the book may be a smart consideration for the American Heart Association. Read more

Animal Infections and the Next Human Pandemic
Animal Infections and the Next Human Pandemic

Review:I enjoyed this book immensely, if one can "enjoy" a discourse that warns of all the infectious epidemic hazards we threaten ourselves with by altering our ecosystem. As a physician not intimately familiar with zoonotic disease, I found Quammen's accounts of those disease processes particularly interesting and well-described. No scientific training is required to understand everything he writes.

I have only two quibbles: First, I did have a bit of trouble following some of his timelines, a... Read more

Wong's Nursing Care of Infants and Children - 9th Edition
Wong's Nursing Care of Infants and Children - 9th Edition

Review:Book details described as "New." The book I received seemed fairly new. Dirty back, scratch on front cover, damaged spine. These textbooks are expensive, and I was upset the quality of the book I received was not new. Not happy with what I received but needed the textbook immediately so I kept it. If it wasn't for needing the book for class, I would've returned it. Not happy with my experience. Read more

One Scientist’s Intrepid Search for the Truth about Human Retroviruses and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS)
One Scientist’s Intrepid Search for the Truth about Human Retroviruses and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS)

Review:There is a sad but also compelling reason Plague is such a page turner: it's true. Mikovits and Heckenlively lift the veil so that anyone who cares to look may see for themselves the heartbreaking truth that economic and political interests have hijacked science today. Federal health authorities, major universities and hospitals are all eating at the pharmaceutical trough so it is incumbent on each and everyone of us to inform ourselves using independent science on so much that we have taken for... The Story of the Deadliest Pandemic in History - The Great Influenza
The Story of the Deadliest Pandemic in History - The Great Influenza

Review:The Great Influenza is fascinating for most part. The beginning is a bit slow, with a history of medicine and how it was just changing into science at the beginning of the 1900s. But then it picks up speed and tells the story of the 1918 flu. The role that politics and the 1st World War played in the spread of that flu surprised me, circumstances that will probably not recur. Explanations of the specifics of influenza and the hunt for a cure or a vaccine were detailled and interesting. I fi... Read more

Natural Treatment for Autism
Natural Treatment for Autism

Review:I have been searching for years and after paying about $20,000 for tests and treatments by 2 gastroenterologists and a Dr of Neuropathy, I have finally found Dr Campbell-McBride to be a credible source. I went on the stage 1 diet and immediately my insomnia went away. I have had debilitating auto immune symptoms for about 5 years and this treatment is showing encouraging results. Read more

Awakening Love in Deeply Traumatized Children - Building the Bonds of Attachment
Awakening Love in Deeply Traumatized Children - Building the Bonds of Attachment

Review:I found this book to be very informative & well written. It is the first book I have read regarding RAD since my son was diagnosed with attatchment issues.

I found that I could relate to many of the behaviours detailed in the book & it has given me invaluable insight into the confusing and painful world where my son sometimes dwells.

I would have liked a more comprehensive guide into the guidelines for parenting a child with these problems - though I have already tracked do... Read more
