Review:Laughing Without an Accent is every bit as good as Funny in Farsi, her first book, with insights into the cultural differences faced by Mrs. Dumas.
This book was also read by friends and family and all loved it! Read more
Review:This charming, well-written memoir looks fondly at the comical parts while skating deftly past the more difficult parts of growing up Iranian in America. As someone just a bit older than the author, I can't imagine it was easy for an Iranian family in the years after the revolution. But she makes it looks easy. The book's humor and discretion make for easy reading, but it also begs for perhaps just a touch more of the dark, to balance out the light. Read more
Review:The Invisible Girls was so captivating that I read it through twice. All the people involved in Sarah's life were written about in fascinating ways. Present were humor and tragedy, hope and despair. This is a book to share with your friends, daughters and your book club.

Review:This a really great book for everyone to read. Per the usual Dr. Grandin blows the doors off stereotypes, and brings science into the equation for the skeptic. It's a great read to learn more about yourself, and the world around us. Understand the fundamental differences that people have and increase the amount of empathy in our culture. Read more
Review:Warning: This book is funny in places. BUT the humor is a bit overshadowed by the very very frequent use of the word F*ck. She also tends to take a lot of political and anti-religious stances. There is some really great material it is just to bad that it wasnt pulled together better. If you are thinking about buying this book go read parts of it at Borders or buy it used. Save your money.
