Review:If the reader has not previously read Dr. Wayne Dyer, or Robert Twyman, then their works should be read first, before this one. Its is incredible on its own, but more can be gotten by reading the others first and then being able to understand this book as it is more cerebral and deeper in the same subject. A masterpiece! Review:The Warrior Ethos takes us on a journey into ourselves, or rather a part of ourselves we often ignore or play down. The code of the Warrior that has been passed down through history has served those who have taken it up faithfully. Pressfield's use of historical figures allows the reader to better understand how this way of the warrior allowed some of the greatest names on Earth to accomplish the feats that made them legends. Review:As was her intent, Ms. Pausch’s info about the lack of information that caregivers are given - the lack of support - is scary especially when you’re dealing with a life-threatening illness like she was dealing with. I am a caregiver to a spouse with Parkinson’s and dementia; our doctors have given me almost no information about dementia, to my detriment . But Ms. Pausch’s situation was much more dire than mine; she was dealing with three children under the age of six, and a life and death sit... Read more
Review:Wow! Such a great, easy, inspiring read. I raced through the book in just 2 morning coffees! Rob Bell's joy and encouragement were exactly what I was needing having been "stuck" in a messy midlife space and needing to move on. His thoughts on just doing #1 and not worrying about #4 or #7 or #42 was perfect! Read more
Review:Ram Das has written his best book in Polishing the Mirror. His meditation in this book has been read multiple times and the entire book twice as I glean new experiences from each reading. A life changing read that is a must read. Wonderfully written. Read more
Review:This book does an outstanding job at helping those who have went through similar life path to relate and realize that they're not alone. Lisa helps such folks by pointing them in the right direction as to where to get help and healing.
The ending *SPOILER ALERT* is quite disappointing: The way Lisa was able to find healing is by reading 2 of Melody Beattie's books, one of which I have "Codependent No More". This was Lisa's solution to healing from codependency. Personally, disappointing for m... Read more
Review:I heard about this book from a friend and decided to check it out...I would have used his but there was writing everywhere!! The first thing I loved about it was that It made me feel like I wasn't just being told what to do/what's right/what's wrong...it really made me think about my personal situation and how I can apply the advice to different aspects of my life in my own, tailored way. Secondly, the information was very clear and I loved that the author used very appropriate bits of wisdom fr... Read more
Review:Megan Devine has not only managed to use words when words are nearly impossible to come by, but she somehow brings solace where solace cannot be had and nurturance where one is lost for both the griever and the witness. Read more
Review:I'm 64 years young, struggling with multiple sclerosis, diagnosed at 39 years. Want to play piano for personal enjoyment. Hubby purchases 61 note keyboard. Accidentally met retired piano teacher. Asked if her music could be borrowed, purchased, et cetera. She said music to be borrowed and she will teach. Shortest version: must learn more than bargained for.
With no appreciation for keyboard, affordable piano was found. Am learning to pace self, practice, learning notes, read and play music ... Read more
