Review:This book has made an incredible difference in my life. I was struggling with a drinking problem and didn't know how to get help for myself. I was afraid of a group setting such as AA and I didn't know what to do besides something like that. I started this book with a strong determination to change my life and that is what has happened. The action steps in the book helped me to identify when and why my drinking became a problem. As a result, I have been able to work on those root causes and begu... Read more

Every Woman's Guide to Life and Love - Choosing ME Before WE
Every Woman's Guide to Life and Love - Choosing ME Before WE

Review:Okay, wow... If you identify as an "independent woman" or "feminist", you will hate this book. If you identify as having "any common sense whatsoever", you will hate this book. If you are even remotely mature or over the age of fourteen, this book will be condescending, basic, and irritating. I think what the author is trying for is noble, and it's important to learn. However, I simply could not relate to the girls' girl way this was written, and it never got past scratching the surface of ... Read more

How to Be Happy (Or at Least Less Sad) - A Creative Workbook

Review:I originally bought this for a friend of mine who gets pretty down in the dumps. She has a lot of challenges in her life, so I thought this workbook might be something she could use to try to feel a little less down on her bad days. After thumbing through it, I've decided to order a second copy for myself!! It is witty, clever, and thoughtful but down to earth and realistic. I get blue from time to time and stress out over things (don't we all!!) and think this book could help see me through tho... Read more

A Proven Program of Cognitive Techniques for Assessing

Review:The book arrived on time and was generally as described. However, upon reading it, the pages are now separating from the spine, which to me is a little more than "cosmetic". I have to be careful when opening and reading the chapters. Other than that, it's as described. Read more

The Self-Esteem Workbook
The Self-Esteem Workbook

Review:I am a psychotherapist working at a mental health agency. Working with many teen-age girls who are swept up by the media and their peers, only to fall and be hurt causes me to go further. In a group setting, we are working on self esteem without making Narcissistic personalities to improve the self-esteem. Core Self is most important, not the external. Forming the Core Self is more difficult in a society that says otherwise. It's a great book. Read more
