Review:I first bought the audiobook, and I really like it. So I decided to buy the paperback to have as a guide for the suggestions and exercises authors give to you. I didn't like the last part of the book (it was too harsh), but understandable the way they did that way. I recommend this book. Read more
Review:I have limited knowledge of the stock market and investing. Like many people, I learned the basics in high school and college, but since I wasn’t an active investor, I quickly forgot most of what I learned. This book was a fantastic refresher for me and will be a great reference tool to look at from time to time. Like most people, I don’t have my own personal money manager or a fortune to invest – yet I still need to plan for college savings, retirement, etc.
This book gives a good ste... Read more
Review:I actually purchased this little Desk Calendar as a gift for a Team Member. She loves Liz Climo.
I'll share my observations of what this calendar is like:
The print quality is fantastic, the pages pull off perfectly (as in, they don't tear awkwardly in the middle like a check does), and really.. who doesn't love Liz Climo?
If I had to pick apart anything about this calendar, it would be that the illustrations themselves have smaller lettering when they're full-sized... but o... Read more
Review:much of the arguments are based on questionable foundations, but it is be useful to spark thoughts as to why they are questionable and therefore what would be better. whether their points are acceptable or not, any idea which aids in further examination of the world is a good thing. Review:This book arrived in emaculate condition and timely. It is a timeless treasure for helping children understand the life cycle and the dying process in a manner that is non frightening. It is a good way to stimulate a conversation with children that are needing to cope with someone or something close to them dying. Read more
Review:The presents an eight point program for effective meditation. His program demonstrates the fundamentals of a good meditation regimen. I am not convinced that this particular style is the best for everyone but there are aspects that can be used to enhance an existing practice. I found the section on mantras interesting and it was refreshing that the author did not insist on any particular number of repetitions. Walking meditation is amazing and adding a mantra enriches the experience. There is a ... Read more
Review:I love Stacy and Clinton's witty banter and usually sane fashion advice on their show, so when this book came out, I was thrilled. It was (and still is) unavailable at my public library, but after two or three read-throughs, I will probably be donating them my copy. The basic concept of the show is repeated here: Three workable looks for a variety of challenging body types are modelled on 26 actual people who are a stunning array of ages and sizes. It was truly amazing to see these 'plain' Ja... Read more
Review:Not at all what I expected. A relatively quick and engaging read with numerous useful insights on dealing with the non-positive side of our life. " In the failure condition, the optimists were far more likely to write off failure as inevitable. Framing an event as an inescapable failure makes it easier to digest." Should be more than a little for most everyone to take away from this book. One of the few of this genre worth shelving for a reread. Read more
