Review:Why package the basic message, that gut microbes are important to our health and well-being, in out-of-date ideas about diet? The author routinely confuses issues by blaming the harms of high-sugar eating on dietary fats. He repeatedly goes after animal fats, and promotes olive oil, without considering their fatty acid compositions, which have considerable overlap. For a book published in 2016 this is unforgivable, although perhaps not surprising given that he cites Ancel Keys, whose opinions on... Read more
Review:I have been following Max for sometime on social media and have been following his advice. Now I have his book and can read more in depth about the research he has collected and put together. The book is not overwhelming to read like some I have read. There are a few recipes at the end that I have already tried and found very tasty. Read more
Review:The book came in perfect condition and included a student cd for video learning. The content itself is a bit redundant and tends to jump around. This makes learning, the exact process of CPR, like trying to follow a maze. "Dumbing down" the presentation of the processes in the book may be a smart consideration for the American Heart Association. Read more
Review:I already had some knowledge about health problems associated with candida and reading this book filled in some blanks. I've been on the diet for 8 weeks and feeling great!!!

Review:I always wondered why someone might be interested in becoming a medical examiner. After reading Working Stiff, I can better understand why that field might be a medical endeavor that has its own set of professional satisfactions and rewards. Until reading this book, I had never realized how overwhelmed physically and emotionally the entire medical community was in the aftermath ... Read more

Review:This book is very interesting and gives a good overview about identifying early childhood trauma.

Review:I have read the first half of this book, discussing the science of cancer therapy. It is very informative, with lots of historical information, individual case studies (though clinically simplified) and many citations, which could be followed up on if one had the time. The second half of the book deals with the politics of cancer therapy, which I may or may not read. Read more
