My doctor recommended this book and I have to say it was very helpful to me, in understanding why certain foods are healthy for us and why certain foods are not. I have never looked at food this way before and it has opened up a whole new chapter in my life.

Wonderful book, Mark explains how food interacts with your genes and how it affects weight gain/loss. This is vital information for most people to be able to change their negative eating habbits. I am a vegetarian, and Mark has pretty much convinced me to become a vegan, by giving up cheese. I've already lost 5 lbs. from being completely aware of what I'm eating and I haven't even started his 3-week program!
I'd also recommend Dr. Neal Benard's book; Breaking the Food Seduction: The Hidden Reasons Behind Food Cravings. It has allowed me to see why cheese draws me to it.

This book provides a lot more details on the actual steps to take that Dr. Hyman discusses in the Ultraprevention. There are some great recipes. I found this book to be extremely helpful in adopting many of Dr. Hyman's recommendations.

A great diet indeed. However, I was surprised when I read about his suggestion about including tofu into the diet. It is well known now amongst health practitioners that tofu is NOT a health food. Other than that, I highly recommend it.

The title sounds a little gimmicky but this book is the real deal. The method works to reset your metabolism and possibly find food allergies that were affecting you without realizing it. It's hard work but I lost about 20 pounds in three week and kept it off.

This book had some good information and recipes but overall it was impractical for me. The plan involved buying exotic ingredients (expensive) and throwing out a lot of stuff. It also involves a lot of time spent cooking, which I don't have.

The hype is all for eating sensibly and this book is more of the same in different words. It's a lot to read to distill the information that eating a balanced diet (vegetables, grains, fish, poultry and meat) in smaller portions will create weight loss, also taking in less calories than you espend will help your weight loss. The metabolic explanation is very unclear to me but I could ask an endocrinologist.
