I Forgot to Remember: A Memoir of Amnesia
I Forgot to Remember: A Memoir of Amnesia

Review:This is an incredible book about a woman who gets hit on the head by a ceiling fan that falls onto her. There are a lot of things that are hard to believe when you read this book. For one, it is extremely disappointing that she gets very little support or therapy for all the physical challenges she faces. How can the so-called experts and doctors expect her to learn things - on her own ? ? ? It is a sad state of affairs that doctors more or less left her to fend for herself ! She was only in t... Review:This book is pretty comprehensive in outline format and an excellent resource for review and to glean buzzwords and such before tests.
However, to really understand material, I would not recommend this as a primary text. Read more

Heal Your Headache
Heal Your Headache

Review:I got this book back in December, started following the diet very strictly, was also seeing a neurologist who started me on a preventative medication. The first week of no caffeine and no pain pills was horrible, but I went from taking triptans and/or excedrin multiple days a week to now less than twice a month. I still get headaches, but they are much more manageable with OTC medication, and triptans only as a last resort. I wish there was a newer version of the book- the recipes in the back ar... The Institute of HeartMath's Revolutionary Program for Engaging the Power of the Heart's Intelligence

Review:A quirky self-help book for those wishing to enhance or improve the work of the heart. The authors have some oddly-named procedures to help, which do seem practical and practicable. It's a bit repetitive and verbose, however. Read more

How to Beat Diabetes Fast (and Stay Off Medication)
How to Beat Diabetes Fast (and Stay Off Medication)

Review:I received this book very quickly(within 3 days), even during the holiday season. I was so anxious to receive this book. I had seen him on the Dr.Oz show and started following his advice about 500 calories a day 2 days out of the week and that alone has helped my A1c fall from 8 to 5.5 in the past 9 months. So now looking forward to trying more of his suggestions.. Read more

Clinical Microbiology Made Ridiculously Simple (Ed. 6)
Clinical Microbiology Made Ridiculously Simple (Ed. 6)

Review:Book is an alright comprehensive coverage of the basics in microbiology. Good for resource in medical school. HOWEVER, I highly DO NOT recommend the purchase of the physical copy of the book. Many other classmates also purchased this book and we all had the same problem. Within the first week and a half of use, the book's binding starts falling apart and pages start falling out, starting from the back. RECOMMENDATION: purchase or find an electronic version of this book, the hard-copy of the book... Read more
