Review:This is a barely passable pulp fiction "mystery" novel from Jonathan Kellerman revolving around a sex murder and some questionable rich kids.
In essence, this book is pretty much completely predictable, and burdened by lengthy explanations that, by the time you get to them, you've either guessed or stopped caring about. The book starts off with premise - a young woman is brutally murdered and sexually molested, with no apparent leads, a cold case 20 years old - but it quickly degenerates... Read more
Review:back again. Would highly recommend this read. Well written mystery, that keeps your attention with interesting, likeable characters and a well developed, believable plot. I hope this becomes a series, as I would like Clay Edison to come back again. Would highly recommend this read Read more
Review:One of these is not like the others -- motherhood adds an interesting contrast to the usual bedfellows of politics, corruption, and sex. This book features nice pacing, suspense, and a main character who is sure of herself as a detective but not as a new mother. She is brave yet vulnerable. Another excellent R&I book! Read more
Review:Tess Gerritsen makes a most viable attempt to amalgamate the TV characters into her novel. Critics may say that this gets away from her previous novels. However, Cathy Reichs is most successful in incorporating her T.V. characters into her recent novels.
May Tess Gerritson be as successful in future stories incorporating characters that fans are most familiar with.. Read more
Review:So, we are supposed to engage in "willful suspension of disbelief" when reading novels. I understand that.
But really...
The child/target of the bad guys in this book manages to escape his captors something like three times despite the fact that the professional law enforcement folks (local sheriff and FBI) are "protecting" him.
Apparently they (the Law Enforcement pros) have never heard of things like handcuffs or kicking guns away from downed suspects.
If this is a... Read more
Review:Just finished The St. Paul Conspiracy and have to say it was an excellent, very well written suspense/thriller book. The characters were witty and the story line was fast paced. I read the book in a few days, and want to see Mac McRyan back in another book. For me, this author falls into the same arena as Henning Mankell (the Kurt Wallander series). I would buy another Detective McRyan book in a heartbeat. I could see this book made into a movie! Read more
Review:Karen Robards is a New York Times best selling author with over thirty books to her credit. I had never read Robards before Shattered.
Little Marisa Garcia is afraid of the woods near her new home. She knows there are shadow people hiding there - and they're watching her.....and she's right.
Fast forward thirty years. Lisa Grant has been assigned to work cold cases for Scott Buchanan, the District Attorney. While going through the file of a family gone missing - the Garcias - Lisa ... Read more
Review:The author did an extremely good job of depicting the inner workings of the "Familia". The storyline was well thought out and the characters had depth, which made everything work and believable.
This is not a typical romance. It is dark and violent. It is a book about the Italian Mafia way of life. Nothing is nice or light but there is an HEA or at least for now... Read more
Review:Surprised at the good reviews. I have really enjoyed Patterson's books in the past but maybe it is the coauthor, this book is terrible. I have not even been able to make myself finish it. How many adjectives can you use sums it up. Very disappointing Read more
Review:I really like the main character, Michael Bennet. I like how the authors present him and his personality and his family. The story is very good. I have read other James Patterson stories, but like the Michael Bennet series the best. Read more
