Review:Bought the kindle version as I have a long standing fantasy of having music *stuff* in ebook format.
Unfortunately returned it as the music notation (tabs included) are formated as small images that don't zoom out enough.
Also- the kindle version doesn't include the accompanying audio tracks (not even mp3s). The missing audio tracks are referenced extensively in the book.
Note to music publishers: don't leave the audio content out of ebook formats!

Review:Seriously disapointed that the cover and intro material for this does not mention that this is advanced level content. When I look at the "Dummies" series I expect it to start from sctratch not from some advanced point in the learning structure. To use this effectively (or at all) you need to be a strong intermediate player with a very solid understanding of music theory as it pertains to other instruments. Review:Great book for self-learning music theory from the ground up.
I studied theory for a short time when I was young, but had forgotten most of it. This book is all I needed to relearn what was lost and go far beyond that too.
The layout of single page lessons with half page explanations and half page exercises is great. Especially since all the answers are given in the back of the book so you can see if you've got it right.
Also has a number of ear training on cd.
