Friendship, Social Skills & School Life
Review:Building friendships by getting to know people is the theme of this book. Great for classrooms at beginning of the year. Would also make a great mentor book for primary writing activities on author's purpose and style. Read more
Review:What a touching story! This story not only teaches a lesson on acceptance but with a special twist at the end. There is no happy ending. Sometimes we don't get the chance to go back and do the right thing. It is a good lesson for students and I challenged them to come up with a way it could have been a happy ending. The illustrations are beautiful. Read more
Review:Purchased this book for a preschooler, with the intention of introducing social consciousness in an age-appropriate way. Characters are believable, illustrations are interesting, and the story is relatable. Makes me feel slightly less guilty about buying my too-young-to-understand-yet child the kind of brand name shoes that I never got as a child. Read more
Review:Another fantastic book to explain to our African-American grandchildren about different skin colors of people from different parts of the world. My Mom was Italian, and she had a different color skin than a lot of Anglo people, and this explains that also. This is a must read for all children...we are all the same inside even tho we may look different on the outside. Read more

The innocent, direct, and always to-the point, Trevor, a pre-teen boy, decides to try a simple experiment to change the world. It's the kind of sweetly optimistic answer to the world's problems that many Americans will immediately take to heart. Sentiment and logic are two mighty different things, my friends, and this idea isn't likely... Read more
Review:The bearnstein bears offer more in manner /behaviour matters like this topic. Didn't like this book much, I can handle it on many issues are just giving unrealistic options, I felt it's target was making kids just repeat reading " I can handle it" more than how! Read more
Review:This is probably the best book in the whole world. Kids especially like "it's okay to eat macaroni and cheese in the bathtub." This is the best approach to diversity I've ever seen, and it's cute and funny as well as having a serious undertone. Buy it for someone unique! Read more
Review:This is the first of the Mother/Daughter books that I read and I loved it. Came across it at Half Price Books while waiting for my son to pick something out of the YA books. Decided to buy it, read it and enjoyed it! I went on to purchase 2 more of the series on Kindle (will review them in a bit) and enjoyed them as well. The author builds a wonderful & interesting world for her readers. Read more
Review:The Baby-Sitters Club was my favorite childhood series. I read (and owned at one point) each book in the series and was sad when I finished it. I am now excited to be sharing this series with my friend's daughter. Read more
