Review:If you have not read Lovecraft before then it may be hard to get into the language. No one speaks in the manner of the narrators of his stories or books anymore and sometimes, that's a shame. Sometimes, though, the flowery language hinders the stories and makes what should be a scary descent into madness a tedious grind through language. Overall, though, Lovecraft is an important literary figure and pretty much created the super weird dear god I can't fathom what that thing was that went bump... Read more
Review:Brilliantly witty and erudite, at home in English and French, knowledgeable in art and literature, Alain de Botton mixes genres to pull out lessons on life and love from Proust's works, while also discussing Chardin and Ruskin and numerous other artists and writers, in addition to discussing Proust's long sentences in a picturesque manner that all really does make us think about our own lives, behavior, and relationships. Review:The book itself is wonderful.
It has detailed information about every DC comic book character that you'd want to know / read about. It does not leave out the little guy.
The pictures are illustrated beautifully and the colors are vivid and bright.
The packaging was not perfect, but the book did come in great shape.
I recommend buying this book if you are a fan of super heroes and or know someone who is. Read more
Review:I would highly recommend this book for a couple reasons. First of all is the quality. Though it's paperback, it's a well-made book. A book that looks nice on the outside as well as the inside always attracts me. Secondly, the information contained inside is very interesting and well-reasearched. I would recommend ... Read more
