Review:*Some spoilers*
R.A Salvatore brings back his signature character Drizzt Do'Urden in what may be one of the greatest challenges the dark elf faced yet. In the previous book a catastrophe in the form on demon lords was unleashed upon the Underdark and now the dark elves for a moment must forget their schemes and think on how to deal with the powerful intruders.
For Drizzt he is persuaded by his friend Jarlaxle into a quest to the Underdark to free a friend whom he believed was dead.... Read more
Review:This is a decent start to a promising trilogy, although this seems to be a very early start in Salvatore's career (his writing improves greatly during 'Streams of Silver'). The main problem in this novel... the battles have too rushed a feeling to them. How does Drizzt seem to escape battle after battle, etc. with hardly any wounds at all?
How can any character possibly defeat the enemies with the mass numbers, mass sizes, and even demons so easily? This in all honesty has that feeling tha... Read more
Review:Boring, he ignored the best characters he has...it was sadly like the last few books, yet even worse. I found myself speed reading to get to something I cared about. There are no redeaming points besides Jarlaxle showing up and Kimmuriel, heck even Athrogate...but they are hardly even a part of the story. It is a tired worn out story..read some David Daglish or Brent Weeks novels if u want some good epic fantasy. Read more
Review:An engaging storyline and we'll crafted protagonist coupled with the thrill of character development / levelling.
One of the best lit rpg sagas I've read - waiting with bated breath for the next installment! Read more
Review:Merciless is a hard book to review.
I Really liked some aspects of it, but there are others that I just didn’t care for.
First I want to say I was initially drawn in by the looks of the book. I mean this is a hot pink hardcover and it is absolutely stunning. I love that there is no dust jacket and that it has this awesome canvas feel. The only thing that really gets me is the actual cover. I don’t like that there is a pentagram/or pentacle (whichever you want to call it) on the cover.... Read more
Review:I chose 4 stars because I thought this book was an excellent end to the trilogy. I did dock a star for the use of too much internet memes and slang. Phrases like "No f#%k's given" is a phrase used on Reddit; it will date this book. I also thought the cussing, while it'll felt natural, was a bit much. However, Mr. Grossman is an excellent storyteller, and this book is unput-downable. Read more
Review:what can i say.... lev grossman can flat out write... my mistake.... create with words a setting of reality with fantasy where neither can exist without the other. i have reached the middle of book 2 as i write... the book i was reading.. is patiently waiting .
it is a joy for the mind... creating what is happening while the book is read, like HD digital between page and mind. Read more
Review:‘The Magician’s Guild’, by Trudi Canavan, is the first book of the ‘Black Magician’ trilogy. Written by the same author as the ‘Age of Five’ trilogy, and ‘Thief’s Magic’; it was first released in 2005, already a decade ago.
The book follows the main protagonist, Sonea, a young street girl which, one day, furious with the acts and attitude of the governing authorities, throws a stone at the shield of a group of mages containing a protest. This stone should hit the shield like the rest, but... Read more
Review:The book was well written, the characters well developed, and the story was one of complexity. Read this book. Conclusion- love and each other are the most powerful tools we humans have with which to survive loss. Read more
