Daughters of the Bride
Daughters of the Bride

Review:Susan Mallery’s newest novel, Daughters of the Bride, is the story of Maggie Watson and her adult daughters Rachel, Sienna and Courtney as they prepare for Maggie’s upcoming marriage to Neil after 24 years of widowhood. Even though in many ways they needed each other to survive over the years, all of the girls have never taken the time to truly discover what is going on with their sisters and themselves. The roles they have assumed in the family dynamics are changing, and through preparations fo... Read more

Barefoot Season (Blackberry Island)
Barefoot Season (Blackberry Island)

Review:I have read/listened to a lot of Susan Mallery's books. I always enjoy them... until this one. Characters weren't interesting and thus I didn't care about them at all.
Ordered this on CD.... and forced myself to listen to 2 of the 8 CD's. After that unpleasant experience.... I threw it in the trash.
Makes me question what happened to the fun, enjoyable books that she has written before.

Don't waste your money on this book!!!!!!!!!! Read more

A Million Little Things (Mischief Bay)
A Million Little Things (Mischief Bay)

Review:Oh my goodness! This book ended too soon! I truly felt Jen’s pain and distress as a new mother, this story line was so poignantly written. As a middle aged reader, I completely identified with Pam as she explores a new relationship. Finally, reading about Zoe and her life as she struggles with ending one relationship and tentatively starting anew was so enjoyable! I felt like I could call Pam and meet for coffee as we discussed Jen and Zoe. Susan Mallery has never disappointed me and with ... Read more

Thrill Me (Fool's Gold, Book 20)
Thrill Me (Fool's Gold, Book 20)

Review:One of the highlights of each summer, for me, is knowing that Susan Mallery will be releasing a new set of Fool's Gold novels. Thrill Me, book number 18 in this series, successfully fulfilled my annual indulgence. In this novel we are introduced to the Mitchell family; this is Del's story. I appreciate how the author creates characters that we can bond with. Thrill Me was fast paced with an engaging plot. Once of the facets of Susan Mallery's stories that I particularly enjoy is how she weaves p... Read more

Book 14) - Christmas on 4th Street - Yours for Christmas (Fool's Gold

Review:Going home feels so good. That is what reading these Fool's Gold books feels like to me. All of these characters make you feel like you have known them your whole life. I wasn't initially as interested in Noelle's story but really wanted to know about Gabriel's from the first time he was mentioned. Was a little disappointed at first to see that they would be sharing a story. I LOVED their story. I don't know of anyone that can't relate to having someone in their life that sees life differently t... Read more

Lip Service (Lone Star Sisters, Book 2)
Lip Service (Lone Star Sisters, Book 2)

Review:I've been a faithful fan of Susan Mallery since her first novel, Tender Loving Care. After reading the previous book in this series, I was really anxious to read this particular novel. As soon as I could download it, I began reading this novel via Kindle. I must say that I was pretty disappointed. While all the previous novels in the Fool's Gold series focused almost exclusively on the relationship of the ma... Read more

Kiss Me (Fool's Gold, Book 19)
Kiss Me (Fool's Gold, Book 19)

Review:First, I really enjoyed reading most of the Fools Gold series. That being said, to me, the last couple of years the books have seemed more formulaic and money-makers than part of the series. It's like Mallery knows we're hooked and knows people will buy the books no matter what. . I loved Jill Shalvis's Lucky Harbor series, and Shalvis had the foresight to know when she'd written all of the stories and it was time to end the series. Mallery should take a second look at this series and move on. S... Read more

Evening Stars (Blackberry Island)
Evening Stars (Blackberry Island)

Review:I found myself having a harder time liking these characters. Everyone from the sisters to the mother seemed to have very odd relationships. Call me old fashion or whatever but I had a total ick moment when Nina went right from one guy to the other. Don't want to give too much away. This is the last of the Blackberry Island books but a spin-off is coming that involves where the married sister lives. Can't wait for the next book. Read more
