Review:The book itself is great, but the kindle version doesn't come with the video content that's supposed to come with the book. I'm being given assignments that involve these videos. I thought I was prepared and now I see I'm not. It's Embarrassing. I'm in a no-excuses type of teaching program. I assumed that the video content was going to come with the e-book somehow. Figured it would be linked. But I got nothing. I paid full textbook price for an e-book that doesn't even have the necessary softwar... Read more
Review:I have tried to integrate technology in my classroom, but it was hard managing all of the different apps and websites. Google classroom has streamlined everything and this book has given me the insight I need to use technology well in my classroom! Read more
Review:I started using the Whole Brain Teaching method last year in my class and I am delighted that it is all online for free! It is nice to have a book as a quick reference though. I guess I am still from the old school and like to have my text book at hand. ;) I am excited to continue using the Whole Brain teaching methods more extensively this year and since I am half way through the book I can tell it will be a great resource! Review:I loved reading this book! I finished the entire thing in 2 days! While some of the suggestions may not work for every teacher and in every classroom setting, the point is to make each of these rules your own. Read more
Review:Todd puts it simply. The teacher sets the agenda. If they care the classroom will be a place of caring. This gives us permission to care and justifies what educators feel in their hearts. This book is very easy to read and full of take home or take to the classroom advice. Read more
Review:The book shipped so fast and in great condition! It even came with the text disk which I didn't expect so it was a nice bonus. The pages are not torn or written on, I couldn't be happier with the purchase. Read more
Review:I can't imagine anyone actually able to implement this approach in a real life situation. It makes pretty broad-brushed assumptions that any student would regularly be self-motivated to study 12 hours a day. I just don't buy it. My kids LOVE to play video games and would do so 12 hours a day, but I can't picture them at 13 and 16 studying what I consider important for that many hours each day without prompting and accountability.
There are so many other factors that play into learning.... Read more
Review:This book will really touch the heart and you will realize that there is alot of crazy people in this world. Some of the things that parents can do to their innocent children is simply distasteful. You will be shocked at stories of children starving to death and a kid being thrown out of a 23 story building. Along with all of the stories of thing happen to the children you will see the emotional effect it has on the Child Service members. They do their best to try and make a reasonable d... Read more

Review:I recently read two books on the topic of learning: How We Learn by Benedict Carey (published in 2014) and Learn Better, by Ulrich Boser (published in 2017). Both books focus on techniques that have been shown through scientific experiments to improve a person’s ability to learn or remember new things. This is essentially a review and comparison of both books.
Both are good, and well-written. There is some overlap between them, and interestingly, they disagree with one another on a few... Read more
