Review:Absolutely beautiful. I love the illustrations. The CD is a bonus and I will be reading this book to my grandchild while the CD plays in the background. This song has always brought tears to my eyes and I treasure this book. Read more
Review:A quick book for middle-grade kids, based around two sixth-graders who find themselves in the middle of a puzzle.
The book was extremely fast paced, much faster than it should have been for the mystery of it all. The characters were introduced so quickly that you really didn't get a whole lot of feel for Petra and Calder.
I'm going to let that go though, as I'm sure many sixth graders don't have the patience for 400-page novels. I loved to read at that age and I know personally that it... Read more
Review:I purchased this book for my grandson and hid his circus tickets inside. He is a major fan the Dr. Seuss and loved this book. We read it before going to the circus and many times since. I highly recommend it. Read more
Review:A darling book for toddlers! Our 2 yr old grandson loves music, and he is so enthralled by the tunes in this book. They are all relaxing bedtime songs so a perfect segue to nap or bedtime. The pages are sturdy so won't rip as they're being turned. The illustrations are colorful and beautiful. Can't miss with this one! Read more
Review:This book not only appeals to adults but to children as well, and it is easy to follow. I sat down with my 8 year old granddaughter and helped her to sketch a dragon.
I thought is was absolutely fascinating, and actually purchased it, not to draw dragons but to use it for creating a fantasy plush toy dragon. However, once I saw the sketches and final product, I decided to tackle drawing a few dragons myself and just loved the details and overall look.
I am not an expert artist bu... Read more
Review:We love this genuine tale about a bear who develops a talent and is able to go to the city and live out his dream. However, he misses home, he returns afraid his friends have forgotten him - only to learn that they were cheering him on, from a far. The illustration are absolutely beautiful. After reading this book, our son requested that we start piano lessons for him. Read more
Review:Kids of many ages and many adults love to imagine a truly unique and one of a kind place to live! Kids will love to discuss what they imagine in a "home of their own and design". A great project with maybe a shoe box, construction paper, and magic markers! Read more
Review:This book is highly overrated. The letter Z acts too angry, and if you're teaching your children phonics, the words that represent some of the letters are incorrect. For example, "xylophone" is used for "x" instead of a word like boX or foX; the letter "o" has the word "owl" with it instead of a short vowel word like "octopus;" the letter "e" should have a short vowel sound word too, such as elephant, but the word "Earth" is used; "unique" and "unicorn" are used for "u," along with "umbrella" ... Review:I love this author! Peter Reynolds has a great way of writing stories about art that help encourage children's creativity and love of art. It is a great way to foster a love of creating art in young children. Peter Reynolds also helps to teach children through his stories to have confidence in their ability to create. Read more
Review:LOTS of animals, but a bit more complicated than I was hoping for. There's a lot of erasing that you have to do step-by-step & lots of combined steps (instead of breaking it down stroke by stroke). Bought this for my 6/yo daughter & while she loves it, I wish it was a bit easier to follow. Read more
