Review:i bought this book because I wanted to learn how to eat healthier and improve some problems i have with my digestion. So far, I have tried the Winter Digestive tea (now a habit of every night after dinner), Winter Rejuvenating tonic, Huevos Rancheros (among our top recipes to cook!), Warming tomato dal, everyday creamed grain cereal, and ghee fried apples. The ghee is the only recipe that i also needed to look for a video to make sure i did it correctly. i also enjoyed making my own Sweet Spices... Read more
Review:Purchased as a compliment to Ray Bayless PBS series.
Though I am a amateur to Mexican cooking, I have started to experiment!
And my results thus far, though less photogenic than the photos in book, are at least tasty! Read more
Review:I needed this book a few years ago while living at 7000+ altitude and loved it. Recently a friend moved to a similar location and was having problems baking...I had to send him this book and he said he is so glad I did. Read more
Review:This book is the real deal. It has everything you could possible need to become a first class expert on the grill. We love the rubs so much we make them to fill a canister and have them ready for any meal. Every member of my family uses this cookbook. Read more
Review:As a "seasoned" cook, I've been down most of the cooking routes: from the French classics, to one-hour gourmet, to complex vegetarian, to severe, healthy cooking by the docs. Now, I lean to this cookbook's style: simple, tasty, fresh and light -- somewhere between poached quenelles and fried tofu. This is a good grouping of contemporary recipes with zip, often with international flair (oriental, Mexican, etc.). Some recipes are updated twists on old faves like Tuna Melt but with artichokes; B... Read more
Review:Very informative book on one of the most basic components of home brewing. Provides a great understanding on why certain beers are best when brewed in certain parts of the world and how their water sources make them as good as they can be.
Anyone who has the two previous Brewing Elements books should get this for the set. Read more
Review:I enjoyed learning Tia's struggle with her health and how her love for food help heal her body. I'm enjoying reading this book because of the recipe as well. I have been recently diagnosed with Gastroparesis and I need to learn how to make some tasty recipes, but this book, will be more for my family and not me. I would have preferred her to give us a little more of the non meat recipes. I am a meat eater, but would like to learn how to cook some foods that are still tasty but without meat. At t... Read more
Review:This book fascinated me, and I couldn't stop reading it. The premise of telling world history through six beverages is clever and it is well executed here. I highly recommend this to anyone interested in history or any of the six beverages discussed herein (beer, wine, spirits, coffee, tea, and cola).
I liked this even more than Standage's "The Victorian Internet" (which I also enjoyed immensely). Read more
Review:I have lost weight easily with the diet, there are things I don't agree with, but the diet was written in 2002 and research has updated a few things. I did not find a lot to help to me in the cookbook but haven't fixed many recipes. Read more
Review:Repetitive but I very decent read especially for those of African decent or those with melanin. Has anyone tried the one meal a day protocol?it sounds very extreme. I agree with many aspects of the book and many of them I don't agree with. Read more
