Shock Wave (A Virgil Flowers Novel, Book 5)
Shock Wave (A Virgil Flowers Novel, Book 5)

Review:Having just completed (with some effort), Sandford's latest work, "Storm Front", my recollection of "Shock Wave" is that it was slightly below par for a Virgil Flowers investigation, but was still far better than his latest offering. Shock Wave is a tale of a bomber running amok against a powerful super-store owner whose new build has divided the community in a rural town. There is a sub-plot of local council corruption, including pay-offs by the rich developer. The plot does stretch credibility... Read more

Echo Park (A Harry Bosch Novel)
Echo Park (A Harry Bosch Novel)

Review:Michael Connelly is unsurpassed as a first rate storymaker and -teller. The well-paced narrative is scattered with detail and stories within the story, that give depth and verisimilitude to the whole. Excellent, entertaining read. Read more

London Bridges (Alex Cross)
London Bridges (Alex Cross)

Review:This was my first Patterson book so I can't compare it to his other books. After reading some of the reviews here my expectations were low, and while the book wasn't great it wasn't awful either. The plot seems to be taken from a James Bond movie and while it's not very fresh or inspired, the plot moves quickly and the pace only slows down in the parts dealing with Alex Cross's private lives. These sequences didn't add anything to the plot. Perhaps they are relevant to some larger story arc thro... Read more

Terminal Rage
Terminal Rage

Review:Terminal Rage was well written and kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole book. There were a few curve balls that I was not expecting which got me so intrigued that I was not able to go to sleep when I was supposed to be sleeping for work in the am. I can genuinely say that I am impressed. You captured and reeled me in with the first paragraph. Read more

and Pawns of the Pacific - The War Planners
and Pawns of the Pacific - The War Planners

Review:I was a bit “uninterested” when I started reading book one. I almost put it away but I thought I would give it a go. I am glad I did! I could not put it down. I have read the whole series. I was hoping and still am hoping that Mr. Watts continues the planner series to find the evil woman (sorry if I gave away som of the book). I also have read all his books and cannot wait for another. I give thumbs up on the Max Fend series as well. Read more

Disclosure: A Novel

Review:When I read words from Michael Crichton, I can visualize them all. I imagine visually the entire story. His stories are technical and flowing. This book is highly recommended. I won't bother to tell you about the book because you should read without knowing to make it more exciting. This book is for techincal thinkers who can visualize. Read more

Treason: A Novel (The Major Brooke Grant Series)
Treason: A Novel (The Major Brooke Grant Series)

Review:This book was gripping from the first page to it's last. Gingrich's insight, historical perspective, and story-telling is fascinating. The story never suspended believability as it tied together Washington D.C.'s political world with the fanatical jihadists whose goal it is to destroy the West. Along with a fast-paced story there were explanations as to the motives and subtleties of the terrorists' mindset. Read more

Wrong Town: A Mark Landry Novel
Wrong Town: A Mark Landry Novel

Review:I read Wrong Town at the behest of the author's mother. So you can only imagine what I expected--not much... Boy, was I wrong. Randall Miller is a savvy new author in the field of counter terrorism. He has an impressive military background that shines through every aspect of the plot and character development. His characters are real people with faults and flaws like the rest of us. The plot develops through a long chain of brief chapters with a tiny cliff hanger at the end of everyone of them. ... The Terminal List: A Thriller
The Terminal List: A Thriller

Review:Yeager sent me!!

I used to read constantly when I was younger. It probably has been 12 years since I've picked up a book and finished it. I just read the last pages of The Terminal List. What a great story! The attention to detail made it easy to picture what was happening. This book has made me get back into ready. Can't wait to watch this on the big screen, as it would be a shame if they didn't make this a movie.

Can't wait to read your next book Mr Carr. Read more
