Historical Romance
Review:I have just discovered Lauren Royal and am very satisfied with her style, description and pace of her books. Her characters are amusing and interaction is also great leading to my wanting to read the next story in the family vault! Read more
Review:Have you ever read a book where you've been so engaged in the story that you lost all concept of time?
Well, that was me reading this book.
It seemed like one minute I had just started reading it and then suddenly, it felt like 20 minutes had passed when in reality 4 hours had passed and I was at 86% of the story.
And what "a hell of a story" it was!
I tried to slow myself in reading to the end because I wanted to savour it as long as I could, but unfortunately, my curiosity got the ... Read more
Review:I was extremely disappointed in this book. When I heard that Lisa Kleypas was writing a romance with Sebastian and Evie's son, I was thrilled and breathlessly waited in anticipation for its release.
Instead, she wasted him--and a huge literary opportunity to spotlight the Devil in Winter's son--in a mundane romance in which he was a supporting character. It should have been titled "Pandora in Spring".
I I would not have minded as much if it had been a interesting romance, but it wa... Read more
Review:Don't know why I'm reviewing because most people don't like them. However, this book is safe from my dry humor it was fully entertaining, and worth the money. Tessa has created a wonderfully delightful story, great in depth characters, and a creative plot. Cant go wrong with this book... Read more
Review:I bought this as part of a package of the De Lohr Dynasty and it was so out of sync with the rest of the books that it was suspicious. The writing was good, but the errors were HORRENDOUS. There were dropped letters, insertions of extra words in sentences, and the most glaring typo was the heroine, who was called "Emilie" throughout the book, but in one instance was misspelled to "Emily". Poor proofreading. This story was not as strong as the other books in the series. Read more
Review:Not necessarily an easy read, but a worthwhile one - the market is full of WWII books, but not nearly so many WWI books - and not so many that are written quite as well as this one. WHile some of the plot twists and turns are seen so far away as to be visible from 30,000 feet - gee, I wonder if [thing the Lord refuses to do] will direct and tragically affect [lower-class person]? - that doesn't make them any less realistic or interesting. I didn't give the book five stars only because so much of... Read more
Review:This is the first time I write a review. Ever. I loved this book so much, I had to write one. I have read everything Margaret has ever written; and in my opinion, this is her best work so far! With this book, she took me on an emotional journey that had me laughing, crying (yes, crying! I haven't cried while reading a novel since I was a teenager!), and wishing for the painful demise of a few nasty villains. When she began writing it, I was skeptical that I would love another series as muc... Read more
Review:Really loved Emma and Ash. They had fantastic chemistry and Emma's pet names for Ash made me laugh so much. If I had any critiques, it would be that I wasn't a fan of the Monster of Mayfair plot line.
Tessa Dare continues to be one of my favorite authors in historical romance.

Review:Where do I begin. No depth of character, the story is ridiculous and I'll never get back the time wasted reading this. Honestly its as though the author lent her name to someone else's writing. Save your money, pass on this one! Read more
Review:I may be biased, but my grandparents were never more happier than when they were verbally sparing. That said romance stories about oil and vinegar, or Beatrice and Benedict relationships have always intrigued me. they seem to be the ultimate relationship doomed for failure, and yet tends to stand the test of time. I really loved this story, Sarah and Hugh had a good oil and vinegar setup. Julia has a fabulous writing style that tells tales in historic context, but with a modern humor, relate-tab... Read more
