Review:this book was really cheap to rent compared to if i had got it on campus. but it smells just awful, I don't know how to describe it but what ever it is I can't get it to go away. it makes anything that touches it smell like it. don't think I'll be renting again. Read more
Review:Very pleased with the way this order turned out. They said it was used but still good looking and it really was. there was just a little use on the cover but the book was completely fine. Extremely satisfied that I only paid a few bucks for this and it was exactly as they said it would be. I would use this seller again. Read more
Review:It is a text book... boring. Term after term - it seems to me many of which are just there for the sake of being a term. To be fair maybe that is the subject matter and not so much the book. But there has to be a better way, a more interesting way of conveying the information without forcing the reader to read a bunch of terms and their definitions. So I take it back - yeah it is the book. Read more
Review:Several months ago, I had a renewed interest in computer programming and started researching . John's blog was one of the first places where I found some wonderful advice. Around this time, he was promoting this wonderful book. I signed up for the Manning Early Release Program like some others, and was really impressed when I read the first two chapters - I couldn't wait to read the rest of it.
"Soft Skills" has great advice for those who are interested in becoming software developers.... Read more
Review:Sure we (the marketing crowd) all know this already. We know world is getting so fast you have to find a way to be remarkable. We know if we dont find that way we will get lost in the masses and become invisible. But sometimes we forget it in our daily business. I dont necessarily agree with the whole ideavirus idea. But I do believe in being remarkable. I also believe being remarkable is all about creating a relevant remerkable temporary monopoly, and competing on the level where noone else has... Read more
Review:This CD-ROM is more about the philosophy behind SPIN selling rather than providing you with instructions on HOW to actually sell or use the SPIN system (which is the best thing out there).
If you want the best SPIN book on how to do it, get "The SPIN selling fieldbook" because that will give you actual exercises to do.
The thing I really didn't like about this CD is that there are no tracks on it! So if you want to advance from one part of a CD to another you've got to fast forwar... Read more
Review:This book "Principles of Managerial Finance" by Lawrence J Gitman is very helpfull for MBA students, graduates, or professional managers. The methods for finance analysis is very clear and straightforward and easy to understand.
The sample cases (based on actual cases) help give insights to readers towards how to implement finance theory into real life finance problem solving. Read more
Review:As other reviewers have pointed out, this (sixth) edition of Security Analysis includes a reprint of the popular 1940 edition (Warren Buffett's favorite), minus some chapters. The deleted chapters, which can be found in the CD that accompanies the book, make room for (new) general introductory remarks to this edition and also to the eight major parts of the book, written by a variety of modern commentators. If all you really want is the 1940 edition, then the better choice for you is probably ... Read more
Review:If you are into long term growth stocks and perspectives then this is a book to read. However for a swing trader like myself there wasn't as much usable content. Still a worth while read and would recommend Read more
Review:Arguably the greatest economist of the 20th century makes complex concepts readily understandable. Easy to read, yet not "light reading," Friedman's book makes the basics of Political Economy understandable for even the novice.
Whether your interest is liberty, economics, or politics, this book is a must read.
I always enjoy watching a debate between someone who has read this book (or one of his others) with people who have not. Absolute slaughter...
