Review:As other reviewers have pointed out, this (sixth) edition of Security Analysis includes a reprint of the popular 1940 edition (Warren Buffett's favorite), minus some chapters. The deleted chapters, which can be found in the CD that accompanies the book, make room for (new) general introductory remarks to this edition and also to the eight major parts of the book, written by a variety of modern commentators. If all you really want is the 1940 edition, then the better choice for you is probably ... Read more
Review:Well written but the solutions offered rely on government which has a poor track record of providing real solutions . I would have hoped for more specific suggestions for a 72 year old couple with a small business to reduce risks in stock and bond markets using index funds and asset allocation. Worth a read to make one aware of the realities which lie ahead. Read more
Review:Excellent book for anyone that is trying to revamp their finances!! Purchased this for a friend that just graduated with her MBA. The book was listed as new condition, but the outside cover did not look brand new. Was a bit disappointed with that, since I was giving this to someone as a gift. Read more
Review:This is a down to earth , well organized and easily understood book . As a newbie to investing in 2013 I am
following the system. So far the biggest thing I have learned is to keep my losses minimal (7-8%). This can at least
keep me in the game . Matthew Galgani, Amy Smith and William O'Neil are motivational authors. The CAN SLIM system allows for rational rather than emotional investment decisions. Read more
Review:The "new edition" just move the questions around slightly and excluded some information. I would recommend buy something from TAN to get better explanation behind the steps. I get so tired of the "its magic" approach to math where the behind he scenes operations are never show, not even once in the examples. This book take that one step further and the new editions are just as bad. Read more
Review:Be careful when returning a rented book.
I returned my book in the same condition as when I received it and was it was rejected as the binding being broken. Now I have to pay for the book. Advise to anyone if you rent a book make sure there is absolutely nothing wrong and that it does not appear to be used otherwise you will have to buy the book. Very disappointed. Read more
Review:This is the ultimate entrepreneurial bible, written by an entrepreneur, for entrepreneurs.
It is practical, realistic, straightforward and concise.
It is not a bleak and theoretic academic treatise, nor a patronizing self-help manual written "for dummies".
It is exactly what an innovative, disciplined, hard-working entrepreneur needs.
It is defiitely a must read. Read more
Review:I was impressed how the author explained the policies and interactions to the society which are not complicated for beginners to understand. There so much still to learn from this book.I'm still at early chapters of the book and I truly enjoy what I'm learning so far. The author keeps me engage and focus on most topics which he emphasizes through series of examples in the chapter. I'm looking forward to the author other books such as Micro and Macro economics.
