Decluttering Your Home, Mind, and Soul
Decluttering Your Home, Mind, and Soul

Review:This is surprisingly preachy and religious. I thought it would be about decluttering, but it's chuck full of of Bible quotes and opinions on child rearing. After extremely long-winded and wordy stories about the author's life, there are finally bits and pieces of decluttering information. It's just too difficult listening to all of the preaching. I wish I could return this. Read more

Be Dating In Six Months Or Your Money Back - How To Get A Date Worth Keeping
Be Dating In Six Months Or Your Money Back - How To Get A Date Worth Keeping

Review:A largely-good read from Dr. Cloud, there are enough problematic issues that keep it from really taking wings and flying.

The good:
1. Finally, some good, realistic advice from a Christian about dating.
2. Lots of angles are covered, rebuking a lot of the casually offered advice of the Church.
3. Written in an easy-to-understand way that sheds light on the complex inner web that can prevent a person from successfully dating.
4. While the advice is based in a Christian belief, ... Read more

The Natural History of Innovation - Where Good Ideas Come From
The Natural History of Innovation - Where Good Ideas Come From

Review:Both thought provoking and interesting. I think the ideas in this book are very well presented and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
It provides perspective to how ideas evolve into things of greatness and how the environments that support these ideas are both a part of nature and also man-made environments. Being able to recognise these aspects of an environment, or lack of is an eye-opener.
I would not hesitate to highly recommend this book. I say, Thank you, to the author for his work in this ar... Read more

National Electrical Code (NEC) - 2014 Edition - NFPA 70

Review:Tables are not laid out well for this format. They are pretty much useless. This is ok as a second copy of the code book, but it is certainly not a replacement, and NOT worth the cost. I wouldn't recommend this. Buy the actual book. Read more

A Craftsman's Guide to Wood Technology - Understanding Wood
A Craftsman's Guide to Wood Technology - Understanding Wood

Review:Simply put, "Understanding Wood" is the only truly comprehensive, scientific treatment of the properties and behavior of wood, specifically written with the craftsman in mind, by the absolute. As professor of wood technology at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst since 1962, Bruce Hoadley is a (and perhaps THE) leading expert on the science of wood. Presented in a slightly simplified scientific manner, which non-scientist craftsmen can easily understand, Hoadley's book provides almost eve... Read more
