How-to & Home Improvements
Review:While Mr. Whitman and associates may be experts in the HVAC field, they obviously are not effective textbook authors for a beginning HVAC course. The book is cumbersome, somewhat confusing, and very hard to follow. The end of chapter questions are more than difficult to answer based on the information given in the chapter. Little emphasis is put on "important" points and ideas. In some cases, throughout the book, a subject is mentioned with little or no detail follow-up, and in other instanc... Read more
Review:I found this book a practical and refreshing take on getting your home decluttered and organized. I particularly liked the chapter on having a more minimalist mindset and learning to let go of attachments to stuff. I've lived in the same house for nearly 20 years, and this book is exactly what I need as a road-map to get started with organizing. Doing it in 10 minute increments fits perfectly with my busy work schedule. I also love how the authors provide info on a variety of products for gettin... Read more
Review:Impressive new version of a do it yourself manual. This was given to a couple buying their first house so I did not open it myself. Somehow playing with someone's gift before you give it to them seems tacky. I believe it offers a free version online too with this purchase. So if you don't want to lug around the book, I guess you can see the page form a smartphone?
I'd say it is worth it. For myself, when I buy a couple a book like this, I get older versions also of the reader's digest do it ... Read more
Review:Amazing book! Has everything you need to know as far as appliance repair is concerned. I wish I got this before I started schooling previously as there is so much more information in here then in the Penn Foster program which is highly disappointing now.
Also this book mailed fast and was delivered to my house very quickly. Read more
Review:Still absorbing the data and detail. I value the myth busting truth and factuality . A book that will work like a suppository if you take it
on. The quality I really appreciate about these books in the way they allow me to turn emerging theory into useful action. Read more
Review:The Food RX approach to healing your body and creating inner balance makes so much sense. The earth is beyond abundant in wholesome, smart foods that know exactly how to nourish our bodies back to health. Why are we not utilizing these amazing tools? The book contains 7 food prescriptions that profess to nurse you back to health. I really loved the GI prescription, I encountered some pretty heavy GI issues this past year and I was eager to find a holistic approach to healing my gut. Prior to rea... Read more
Review:Expensive book for what you get. The people pictures don't even look happy! Very "staged" I might pay five or six dollars for this book, but not more. This may be like a "model home, but much of it is not practical. Seems so strange to buy something new just to make it look old, but maybe that's just me. Go to some garage sales in the country and find the real thing, because your time is valuable and the real stuff always has a story behind it! Read more
