Astronomy & Space Science
Review:Science fiction can only hope to emulate the deep intricacy and magnificent wonder that the reality of our universe can boast. While seemingly complex and evasive in nature, the laws that govern our universe hold answers that may astound even the most imaginitive. Kip Thorne has elegantly captured the "majic" of the universe and tamed the unknown into an understandable context.
Understadable, that is, for anyone you has ever wondered about the universe and the mysteries it holds. Thorne's ... Read more

Review:As a young adult, watching Neil Armstrong walk on the Moon ignited a life long interest in space travel.
Scott Kelly’s mesmerizing account of his life as an astronaut did Not disappoint!
Thank you, Scott Kelly, for presenting the reality of NASA triumphs and failures.
The comparison of the Russian versus American philosophy was humorous and enlightening.

Review:A major contribution to the advancement of science!
An outstanding book!
(I received mine via pre-order from Amazon.com in October 2007)
A major contribution to the advancement of science!
This book is a "must study" for anyone who has any interest in space, the space program, NASA, and corporate politics in general.
Corporations exist to retain their secrets. The USA is a corporation, and so is NASA!
In this book, Richard Hoagland and Mike Bara point o... Read more
Review:With 5 hundred and thirty some pages of text, Greene certainly has a lot to say. Fortunately, most of it is very good - as others has said! Not as much on the Zero Point Field and applications as I had hoped but stayed relatively pretty free of New Age conversations. My only reason for 4 stars is not content but the size of the print, especially the notes. Use good light or glasses. Thumbs up. Read more
Review:The only "evidence" this book provides is that some people will ignore scientific fact if they feel threatened by it. The author's arguments are based on faith and wishful thinking, not reason. That should tell you all you need to know. Read more

It is because of this that reading the book is very frustrating. Why frustrating? Because while reading the book, one realizes that the only thing keeping humanity from colonizing Mars is ignorance, political wrangling, and public apathy.
Incidentally, the book that got me... Read more

Review:For those who may feel intimidated by the plethora of books on physics topics that contain an abundance of formulas and equations, fear not. Brian Greene has a real talent for communicating advanced concepts in simple terms. He is the type of teacher I would have loved to have in college. This book is well worth the price at many times what I paid. Read more
Review:An average written history of the advancements in cosmology and the science behind it. To make it more accessible, there is little math so those who want a good narrative of what is going on are encouraged to read this. The author goes in depth with the personalities behind the science and the experiments and work being done.
My main gripe about this book is if you didn't understand much about dark matter and dark energy before you read this book, you won't understand much about it after ... Read more
