Review:Our family loves this series. I found the book's because my brother-in-law got a wolfhound and my son was an Avid Reader but there was very few good books for boys after 6, 7th grade. He and i read them and dad felt left out so we got him the wonderfully read books on tape. Brother in law and his college age girl's read them too. Ive suggested this series to many people. Never had one of them say they didn't like it. Start with book one for a fun adventure. Read more

Fortune Smiles: Stories
Fortune Smiles: Stories

Review:Well written, tackles difficult subjects. -- and new ones-- in a creative way. Range of characters with different voices and from different cultures. Some stories were easier to get involved in than others, in my view. Five stories in all but I only finished three of them. Read more

Holding the Vision (Celestine Prophecy) - The Tenth Insight
Holding the Vision (Celestine Prophecy) - The Tenth Insight

Review:I was kinda disappointed with this book. The points made are great but the story line is not written that well. It took me a month to read this and to be honest with you, I had to force myself to finish it. I couldn't put the Celestine Prophesy down, this one I had to put some effort into choosing to continue. I feel compelled to move forward in the series and I already ordered my book... Hoping I don't end up wasting my time... Read more

Midnight Marked (Chicagoland Vampires)
Midnight Marked (Chicagoland Vampires)

Review:This is the 12th book in the Chicagoland Vampire series and I think it’s time for this series to be over. By and large this story was just boring. It was very predictable and very ho hum. I thought the previous book in the series was a bit better, but overall this series is starting to feel tired to me…

Again the big baddy in this book is The Circle, an anti-vampire group in Chicago headed by Adrien Reed. This enemy has felt contrived and forced from the start.

At first I was e... Read more

House Rules (Chicagoland Vampires)
House Rules (Chicagoland Vampires)

Review:The tale of Merit; her love, her house, her honor, gets better with each telling. A great combination of mystery, emotional conflict, humor and imagination make Chloe Neill's series a must read. I can hardly wait for the next tale to begin. Read more

The Complete Collected Jack Reacher Short Stories
The Complete Collected Jack Reacher Short Stories

Review:I can never get enough of the Teacher character. I wish he posted a book a month, I would buy all of them. Perhaps we see a character in Teacher we all wish we could be but that certainly is not realistic so we live vicariously through fictional characters.
I hope it will be a short time until the next Teacher novel. As an aside, the first novella in the book is absolutely incredible.
From a fan. Read more

MatchUp

Review:The assumption was that the mix of top writers would result in a number of excellent stories.
Unfortunately that is not the case, the mix of styles is very disappointing and the result is rather flat. Read more

Haunted: A Novel
Haunted: A Novel

Review:Haunted takes you places where you never wanted to go, and once you get there you never want to leave. The characters are vivid. The plot is realistic. The world created is as real as this one. That's what makes it so scary. You get to know the characters, to feel sorry for them, to hate them, to root for the bad guy, and there are plenty of them to choose from. There's something about hiding from the world for three months and killing those around you for fame that makes you not put this down f... Read more

Dangerous Women
Dangerous Women

Review:I bought this anthology as a gift for my significant other who is enthralled with A Game of Thrones. The book was in good shape when it arrived, and is aesthetically pleasing to publicly display. The anthology seems really interesting as a whole. Definitely worth the buy. Read more

Rayuela / Hopscotch (Spanish Edition)
Rayuela / Hopscotch (Spanish Edition)

Review:Looking for an innovator? For a "new" idea? For a strange book? Read it. If every book has a way of reading for each reader this asumes that and gives you freedom for reading it's chapters in the order you want to. Increadible!! You will find all this, and also an author that is a great critic of himself, but don't look for a real inspired artist because Cortazar is not. Anyway, read it! Read more
