A Matter of Trust (Mia Quinn Mysteries)
A Matter of Trust (Mia Quinn Mysteries)

Review:Very exciting. Loved the characters and the technical information on how the justice system works, or doesn't sometimes. Because the author is a lawyer the story is quite believable. I will look forward to more reads of the same calibre. Thanks Lis! Read more

The Diaries of Adam & Eve - Translated by Mark Twain
The Diaries of Adam & Eve - Translated by Mark Twain

Review:I thought the purchase of this book would save time in reducing the original long version which I needed to do for a short performance. It did not. I had to go back to the original as key elements were missing from this version. Poor quality. Read more

A Dungeons & Dragons Sourcebook (D&D Supplement) - Curse of Strahd
A Dungeons & Dragons Sourcebook (D&D Supplement) - Curse of Strahd

Review:One of the classic adventures returns to 5th Edition. This book has high production values, well worth it. A big plus is that the book is "campaign setting neutral", which means that it does NOT depend on being located in some Forgotten Realms or Sword Coast campaign. The writing and content is top notch. But that's not a surprise since this book was co-written by the authors of the original Ravenloft D&D adventure from the 1980s. Read more

The Complete Collected Jack Reacher Stories (Jack Reacher Short Stories)

Review:I can never get enough of the Teacher character. I wish he posted a book a month, I would buy all of them. Perhaps we see a character in Teacher we all wish we could be but that certainly is not realistic so we live vicariously through fictional characters.
I hope it will be a short time until the next Teacher novel. As an aside, the first novella in the book is absolutely incredible.
From a fan. Read more

My Ishmael (Ishmael Series)
My Ishmael (Ishmael Series)

Review:I have read the critical reviews of this book, and I have to say with all due respect, that those who criticize are reading this book with the wrong attitude. Quinn is not proposing a return to the hunter-gatherer lifestyle, nor is he suggesting that humans are unnatural organisms that are inherently wrong. He merely shines the light on simple flaws in our perspective, and with great hope and optimism provides a shining new world prospect. Whether or not you agree personally with Quinn, his ... Review:This book of revamped fairy tales is very well written and fun for adults to read. Everyone in my book club loved it and, that is a first for us. We all had our individual favorites; mine was "If Wishes Were Horses". The book was hard to put down and impossible to forget. Read more

He Can Fall (A Short Story) (She Can Series Book 5)
He Can Fall (A Short Story) (She Can Series Book 5)

Review:I liked the story very well, however there wasn't much in the line of context. Trouble, happy times, trouble and happy meet. Then scary stuff, Defender arrives. All happy again the end. Almost felt like a paper assigned along time ago but just written the night before deadline. Good but knows they can do GREAT! Read more

A Collection of Previously Unpublished Writing - Sucker's Portfolio

Review:The writing is classic Vonnegut - meandering yet with purpose. I thoroughly enjoyed each short story, as well as the essay. It's a shame that the last piece was never completed, since it definitely let me wanting more. Read more

Pudd'nhead Wilson (Complete and Unabridged)
Pudd'nhead Wilson (Complete and Unabridged)

Review:This is classic Twain. It is hilarious. If you want some entertaining reading, this is a great choice for a medium length introduction to Mark Twain. The "negro dialect" is easy to read once you get the hang of it. You do need to get past the use of the "n word" though as in many of the writings from that period. The almanac quotes keep you waiting for the next ones. Read more

Review:The stories are all good, as most Dresden Files are, though I’d read several of them before. I especially liked the ones told from other character’s points of view. Mouse’s is the last & the best. Read more
