Carry Me Home: A Novel
Carry Me Home: A Novel

Review:I often wonder why some books make the bestseller list when they shouldn't and others don't when they should. Carry Me Home should have. It's an eloquent story that's filled with sensitivity, humanity, and emotional depth.

Set in a small town in Wisconsin during WWII, Carry Me Home lets us enter the lives of sweet and perceptive 16-year-old "Earwig," his parents, his brother Jimmy, and friends. When Jimmy goes off to war and becomes a POW, Earwig learns to become a man and takes a job ... Read more

Review:Alcoholism, finding your birth mom, internet porn addiction, breast cancer, lesbianism - this was like a marathon of Lifetime movies!
It goes without saying that many things will happen over a 40-year friendship, but it was just too much of a stretch to believe that every one of these women would undergo their own 'trendy' topic.
The chapters dragged on and I found myself skipping over big sections - especially when I caught on to the fact that each woman was going to neatly wrap up her o... Read more

Kill the Dead: A Sandman Slim Novel
Kill the Dead: A Sandman Slim Novel

Review:Copied from my Goodreads review.

First the bad.

There were a crap ton of typos. Missing words, extra words, that kind of thing. For example, too many "the"s, or missing "to"s. It drove me crazy. Other than that, I loved this book.

Then the good.

Stark is what I wished Dresden would be. Of course I had to make some comparisons, because I have been reading the Dresden Files series for a while now. There are similarities but not as many as you would first think. I always... Read more

How to Stop Time
How to Stop Time

Review:I enjoyed 'How to Stop Time' not only for the wonderfully evocative portrait of the many different historical periods, but for the way these are woven together into a believable whole in Tom's life.

Matt Haig does this in so many ways, one example being the close of the main para on p. 325 which takes us "back down the path from where we came...as sycamore seeds spin and fall in this same forest."

I enjoyed the focus on the interior life of the protagonist as much as the exterior ... Read more

Billionaire Bachelor (My Father's Best Friend Book 1)

Review:My Father's Best Friend. This book was amazing! It was filled with joy as well as sadness and it also pulled at your heart. I was captivated from the beginning and couldn't put it down. The surprise on their faces when Lanie realizes Andrew was friends with her dad. Tragedy comes with a price as well. It read so much like a real life romance story. This is a must read book! *** I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else’s. *** Read more

Savage (The Kingwood Series Book 1)

Review:I don't cry at books. It's just not something that I do. But this is the second time that S.L. Scott has brought tears to my eyes through one of her beautifully written stories.

Sara Jane is beautiful and smart, fierce and fiery, and strong enough to stand up to Alexander's deplorable excuse of a father. She knows what she wants and goes after it, never backing down from Alexander even when he tries to push her away.

Alexander is a knight in a bad boy disguise. Though, it could be ... Read more

Review:LANDLINE
4.95 STARS
I just can't bring myself to give this book a full 5 stars for two reasons.
1)A few tiny details bothered me.
2)I know this is really bad.... but I didn't like it as much as Fangirl. I'm not really comparing, I just think that they deserve even a minuscule difference in the ratings because I don't feel the same way about Landline as Fangirl.... but I still really loved it.... I'm about to tell you why.....just be patient.

Okay, so I've read all 4 of Rainbow... Read more
