The Crossing: Book 2 of The Border Trilogy
The Crossing: Book 2 of The Border Trilogy

Review:THIS BOOK IS ONE OF THE ENGROSSING ONES THAT I HAVE READ LATELY. I FELT LIKE I WAS LIVING THE HARDSHIPS WITH THE BOY AND THE WOLF. BUT WHEN THE WOLF WAS KILLED, I CRIED AND FELT LIKE THE BOOK WAS ENDED FOR ME. BUT WHEN I READ THE SECOND PART, IT STILL WAS A SAD BOOK. WHILE I WAS VERY SAD ABOUT THE BOOK, I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS BOOK FOR ANYONE WHO REALLY GETS REALLY INVOLVED IN WHAT THEY ARE READING. Read more

Cover of Night: A Novel

Review:This story is interesting and keeps you glued to the pages. I loved the main characters and their relationship that was growing very slowly. The suspense keeps you turning the pages...will they survive? Will they save the town? What happens if they fail? This is a fabulous romance/thriller that romance and mystery fans will enjoy. I've read most of the books from this author and this is still my number one choice. Great action and when they get together....BOOM! 4 1/2 stars because romanc... Read more

Second Hand Heart
Second Hand Heart

Review:I know from experience that the basis of this story is true. We donated our daughter's organs when she died. The man who received her heart said that when he woke up from surgery, he fe!t so much happiness. Hey had never felt that way before. Our daughter was an extremely happy person, and we attributed this !and joy to our daughter. This book helped to confirm our feelings. Thank you for this heartfelt book. Read more

Review:I READ "THE GIRL WITH ALL THE GIFTS" AND THOUGHT: "WHO IS THIS AUTHOR"? I REALLY ENJOYED THAT BOOK. WELL, IF ONE LOOKS HIM UP ON THE INTERNET HE MYSTERIOUSLY KEEPS HIS IDENTITY AS THE AUTHOR OF THE FELIX CASTOR NOVELS A SECRET. NO CROSS CREDITS BETWEEN HIS M.R. CAREY WEBSITE AND HIS MIKE CAREY WEBSITE. PERHAPS IT IS BECAUSE OF HIS FAME AS AN AUTHOR OF COMIC BOOKS (EXCUSE ME, GRAPHIC NOVELS) AND HIS RELUCTANCE TO BUILD ON THAT FAME. WHATEVER IS THE CASE HIS WRITING IS GOOD. HOWEVER, AS FOR ... Read more

(Discworld Novel 13) (Discworld series) - Small Gods
(Discworld Novel 13) (Discworld series) - Small Gods

Review:In this era of triumphant religious fundamentalism, Small Gods is a pretty dangerous item to be seen carrying. Terry Pratchett, carrying a reputation of being a major force in writing fantasy and humour has shed both in this penetrating book. It's an incisive satire of the mores and methods of the three major religions of Western Civilization. Pratchett's astute axiom that the Discworld is a "mirror of worlds" applies with more force here than any other Discworld book. Pratchett casts a... Read more

The Book of Lost Things Illustrated Edition
The Book of Lost Things Illustrated Edition

Review:The Book of Lost Things: The lost things, yes, as well as the sometimes "LOST" passion, dedication, and charming pleasures in reading a good and well-written book. It is difficult to find the "one adjective" I would use if someone were to ask me to resume this novel in one word. I read a lot of books (and of all kinds and genres), but very seldom (unfortunately) I feel a sense of melancholy and nostalgia once I have finished it. These mixed feelings, after all, are most positive. I think that on... Read more

Into The Forest
Into The Forest

Review:This is a wonderful book. I am not prone to crying while reading a novel, but Hegland brings the characters so close to you, that I felt I was suffering with them. This is a novel that encourages you to preserve and cherish the natural world ...including yourself and your loved ones. And it reminds you that we are certainly overlooking the really beautiful and fundamental gifts from nature to grab at unnecessary things in this so-called civilization in which we live. This novel makes you wan... Read more

2666: A Novel
2666: A Novel

Review:finishing 2666 leaves you both glad its over and wanting more. Bolano's final work is a true capstone; worthy of the praise heaped on it and yet still imperfect, flawed in some ways that almost make the book better. But I get ahead of myself.

The book is divided into 5 sections; each one orbits around parts of the story. Santa Teresa, and to a lesser degree, the enigmatic author Archimboldi for the center of the mass.

The first book, "The Part About the Critics", is, by far, the "h... Read more

Review:When I heard Pam Godwin was writing a student/teacher book, I jumped for joy. I love forbidden love stories and I love this author so I was fairly certain this would be a win for me. Every Pam Godwin book I read, I’m shocked by the beauty in her words and the stunning stories she writes. I’ve come to the conclusion that by now I should just be used to it. This is the fifth book I’ve read by this author and all of them have been fantastic 5-star reads. Friends- if you haven’t read this author you... Read more
