I love Carolyn Brown's style of writing. I've only read two of her books and thoroughly enjoyed both of them. I found myself smiling alot and caught up with the characters. I am looking forward to a third book by her.

I enjoyed this short story. The plot is a bit cliche, but the way it plays out is adorable. There are still a few issues with the story, but it's nothing major. I felt that a few important details were just skimmed through, and left the reader guessing through most of the story. It mentions certain things, but does not provide a back story. This may have been what the writer was going for, to make the reader think a little harder or to come up with conclusions on their own. Overall, it was a good story.

This story grabbed my attention immediately. I really wanted to know what history existed between Haley and Maddox. Olivia's story was beautiful and sad, but what a great project she ends up having. We're also introduced to Ryan and Justin who have their own stories in later books.
The romance is clean, the humor awesome, all in all a sweet story with people I'd like if they were real, and emotions we all can relate to.
I'm left wanting more, and there are more books by this author that continue this story!
And of course, I'm also left with a craving for ice cream.
The Darkest Child :: RASPUTIN'S LEGACY :: An Artist of the Floating World (Vintage International) :: Never Let You Go: A Novel :: an addictive modern thriller with historical twists (A Joe Johnson Thriller

Who doesn't fall for a good cowboy story? If anything it was too quick, but the characters were well developed for a novella. Sweet romance, with a dash of reality to keep it from being too sweet. Nice!

Quick, easy to read story. Predictable, sweet, clean romance that had likable characters. Olivia's ice cream situation was a bit questionable but if you're looking for something to pass an hour, this would be a good choice. I'm not sure why Maddox was considered a cowboy because he wasn't and an epilogue would have been nice.

This is a story about love revisited. Haley comes back to care for her dying aunt who raised her. She gets involved with her best friend, who died in childbirth, daughter Olivia who lives with her uncles on a ranch that is in financial trouble. She helps the little girl start an ice cream business, helps her injured uncle Justin get out of his depression and ultimately falls back in love with her high school prom date.

Book ends at 87% then it's just ads for other books.

I felt the story lacking. Characters did not seem fully developed. Story was just to short. Everything seemed to move at an accelerated pace.

Ok book. Not much romance in this story. The thing I found hard to believe was a ten-year-old girl had a business plan to make gourmet ice cream, and she already had several recipes on hand??? REALLY? Hahaha. Glad this book was free.

I previously bought Kissed by a Cowboy and loved it. I was anxious to read the sequel so I downloaded this book in Kindle unlimited.
Book 1 - Haley and Maddox meet again after a kiss at prom years ago. Haley and Maddox's sister were best friends. He is now raising his niece Livy. Haley comes back to town and she isn't the shy timid girl she was in high school. Loved how her character has grown. She and Livy hit it off immediately and bond quickly. I always thought Haley and Maddox would make a cute couple. They both have things they have to deal with but there is still an attraction. Great ending.

Book 2 - I was so excited when I heard there was going to be a sequel that I quickly downloaded it from Kindle Unlimited. It has been a few years since book 1 and while they still love each other the honeymoon is over - or is it? Livy is a teen, a new baby, Maddox working more (loved his reason), a new character, and Haley feels exhausted are just some of the things going on. It was great to see that as a couple they could love each other and remain true.

I highly recommend this book!!!! Would like a book about Livy when she is grown up.

This is a sweet book and Redbud Trails is a wonderful overall series.
Any reader who is looking for a fast read (90 min) with a HEA and a love story without all the over-sexed scenes that can overwhelm a romance need look no further.
The characters often have dealings at church - or church functions - and so while these are not what I would call "Christian" books, the characters lead lives that show they are like so many good people; they are trying to do what is just and right, even for those that haven't always done that in the past or have failed lately... They are looking to continue following a true path though it's tough and finding love helps them along.
I liked that while my time to read these was quick, the stories often spanned months, even a year while the characters found their way to love. And, since the books follow each other some stories let you know about upcoming wedding plans or that a wedding occurred for characters that you already read about (just so you know it happened *insert wistful sigh*).
I would let me 11 year old niece read these, as there is no swearing/sex/innuendo in them and yet I don't feel they are too childish for an adult in any way.

A beautifully written story about loss and heartache, grief, insecurities, spunk and love, this short story will have you gushing, both from the heart and the eyes. Haley is back in town to help her aunt who has recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer and a very short lifespan. The only caring family she has left, she's determined to do the best she can for the woman who gave her roots when she needed them the most. After a draining day organizing her aunt's affairs, she finds herself in front of a young girl who is the spitting image of her mother, Haley's best friend until her untimely death shortly after she gave birth to her daughter. When Livy and Haley hit it off, Haley knows she needs to help the young girl with her "business plan". The only problem...she wasn't prepared for the effect Livy's uncle Maddox was going to have on her...again. Will these two let their insecurities lead them away from each other once again? Or will they finally drum up the courage to take the chance at happiness?
Well written with a plot that is easy to follow and covers so many emotions that we all feel when faced with trauma of all kinds, this book will surely melt your heart.

When Haley Carston returns to Redbud Trails to care for her dying aunt she runs into the daughter of her old high school friend Katie. Katie had passed away years ago in a car accident leaving her daughter Olivia in the care of her uncle Maddox. Maddox and Haley had feelings for each other that they never acted upon back after Katie had convinced Maddox to take Haley to her senior prom.

Olivia reminds Haley so much of Katie, when Olivia shows her that she wants to start up her own ice cream business Haley can’t help but get involved while she’s in town. Haley spending so much time with the little girl also means spending time with Maddox again and the two slowly begin to rekindle those old flames.

A lovely story of a love that once slipped away between two people that have matured over the years and now seem meant to be. Maddox has struggled to care for his niece and injured younger brother and Haley is the breath of fresh air needed to pull the family back together.

Overall, great love story would definitely recommend.

Katie set Haley up for a date for the prom. She didn't tell her it was her brother Maddox, the big college football star! It wasn't a great date with everyone wanting his attention. A few years later Katie has a girl named Olivia, too small when her mother was killed in a accident to remember her. Her father and mother passed away and Madras quotes college a year short and his brother, Justin's rodeo days are over. Haley comes home Aunt Matilda has cancer. All are back in Redbud OK . This is a book about second chances when you hit rock bottom. I enjoyed this couldn't put it down.

Haley Carston had moved around a lot when she was a teenager so she rarely made friends. When her aunt invited her to stay with her and finish high school she finally had a home and friends. Katie, her friend in school fixed her up with Maddox (Katie's brother) to go to the prom. He was her first kiss and he was popular because he was on the football team.

Haley's Aunt Matilda is dying from inoperable cancer so she goes back to her small town after being gone for ten years to look after her. Haley meets Olivia at the bank and notices she looks exactly like her mother, Katie. Katie was killed in a car crash shortly after Olivia's birth. Haley calls Maddox, who is now raising Olivia and gets his permission to take Olivia to Aunt Matilda's. Haley helps Maddox and Olivia with Olivia's business proposition and even gets his brother Justin interested in doing something, not just sitting in front of the TV. Haley and Maddox get to know each other again but neither feel they good enough for the other.

Maddox Michaels was doing great at college football with the possibility of going pro when he had to go back home to run the family ranch. He is angry and humiliated that he did not get to persue his dream, especially when he was called home with just one year needed to finish his degree. He not only is running the family ranch but has custody of his niece, Olivia and is caring for his brother, Justin, who is recovering from a rodeo accident where a bull trampled him and broke his pelvis. When he sees Haley again, he wants to see what can come of his feelings for her but he knows he is in no financial situation to consider a relationship. I really liked Maddox. He took on so much responsibility because it was the right thing to do but could barely make ends meet while doing this. I liked how Maddox didn't think he was good enough for Haley - typical male attitude.

As a teenager, Haley was very shy, but not anymore. She gets involved with Maddox's family and helps everyone find satisfaction with their lives. I liked how Haley subtly fixed everyone's problems.

After twelve years away Haley Carston returns to Redbud Trails, Oklahoma, to look after her aunt. Everybody remembers her as Katie Michaels’ tag-along friend because of her shyness, but she is determined to prove them she is no longer that girl. Especially, she wants to prove that to Maddox Michaels, Katie’s oldest brother, who kissed her during her senior year prom. Maddox has changed a lot, though. He has been forced to put his dreams aside and has worked hard to care for his brother and his little niece, Olivia, since Katie’s untimely death. Now it is time to see each other again and maybe, with the help of Olivia, they can have another chance to be together.

What a beautiful story! I loved how the author developed the plot and delineated her characters. All of them had a detailed description despite it was a short story. The main characters, Haley and Maddox, were very endearing and I enjoyed a lot their story. I clearly have a soft spot for cowboys because I grew fond of Maddox since the first pages. He is an adorable man, although life has changed him and has made him gruff and sometimes grumpy. But it simply took a sweet girl from his past to get him back to his old self again, the guy who had big dreams and who forgot them to help his family and take care of his brother and his little niece, Olivia. I loved this slowly but significant change in his attitude. Because of terrible circumstances Maddox gave up his dreams but now, thanks to Haley, he learns to live again. In my opinion, Haley is a sort of guardian angel. Although she has her own problems to deal with and a dying aunt to care for, she brings back hope and joy to the Michaels family and she has the opportunity to find her own happiness right there, where she thought there was no good for her.

A very romantic and moving story I would recommend to everyone. This was my first book by Lacy Williams but I will surely read more by this author!

Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars.

This was a sweet story, and I enjoyed reading it! It's fairly short, so I read it very quickly, and I enjoyed it from beginning to end. This is a pretty tame romance; no romance scenes really, except for a couple kisses. I love the ranch setting, and the whole ice cream business was adorable. Haley and Maddox have great chemistry together, and they both are so selfless and all around great people. Maddox was a bit stoic, but I still liked him; you know the whole silent cowboy thing. For how short this story was, I think the author did a great job of making it feel like a complete story, and I look forward to more from this author. I would enjoy a book with Maddox's brother, that seems like it would be an interesting story, and I would hope to see more of Maddox and Haley.

I loved reading Haley and Maddox’s story when it began and I was so excited to read part 2! Happily ever after should always follow through.
Haley was so real. Her tears and fears are things all new moms experience.
It was awesome to see Livi growing up and Maddox really being the kind of everyday hero all women need
Great book!!

Haley and Maddox went to the prom when Maddox's sister set them up year's ago as a favor to Haley because she was new in town. Maddox was older and off to college on a football scholarship. Haley was very shy and the new girl in town but they shared a "first kiss" that stayed with them for 12 years. Fast forward those 12 years and things are very different. Maddox had to drop out of college long ago when his mom and sister died, leaving him with a baby niece to raise and a cantankerous brother who is injured and a farm that is barely making ends meet. Haley went to college but is back in town because her aunt is dying. However, she's no shy anymore and she brings all this joy and sunshine to Maddox's family. I loved that she showed the difference one person can make in the lives of so many people! Just her happy spirit changes so many people! This is a great story!

This was a cute read about two people who meet when they are younger and meet later on in life to find that they still love each other after all the time that has past. It’s a really enjoyable read but I wanted it to be longer and in more detail, only because I’m nosy and love to know everything about a character. Maddox is so broody when he’s older because his football career falls through when his sister, Katie dies in a car crush, leaving a baby girl that he has to take on. Hailey was Katie’s best friend and is in love with Maddox but doesn’t know how it will work. Loved reading it and it might be short but it is a cute, enjoyable read.

I really enjoyed this quick, clean story. There were some grammar mistakes but they didn't detract too much from the story. The story begins with young Haley yet again being the new girl in another town, Redbud Trails, as her father moved them from town to town. Only in this town, a popular girl, Katie, befriends her and even arranges a date for prom for Haley. Then the story moves to the present day when Haley returns 10 years later to care for her sick aunt and she meets Katie's daughter, Olivia, on her first day back in Redbud Trails. The interplay between the characters is believable and enjoyable. I really liked it!

Kissed by a Cowboy by Lacy Williams
As a senior in high school Haley Carston received her first kiss from an older college guy Maddox Michael’s. Years later she returns to Redbud Trails, Oklahoma, still remembering that kiss. She only plans to stay long enough to help Aunt Matilda that is fighting cancer. Things take an interesting turn when she meets Maddox’s young niece Livy at the bank. It seems she rode her bike three and quarter miles in order to get a business loan. Read this great book to see if Haley and Maddox can rekindle the flame from before. This was a extraordinary book. It was well written with believable characters and situations, well worth 5 stars.

I think every wife and mother have had insecurities like Haley displays in this novella. But, Ms Williams shows how communication concurs or helps deal with the stress.

Cute addition because one tends to what happens next.

Maddox and Haley are perfect! It was so nice to have a sequel to the first book to see their life a few years down the road. Yes they struggled but they fought for their love
and their happiness! It was a wonderful book to read. Again, I loved it!

This was such a sweet story about two people who reconnected 10 years later and shared the love of his orphaned niece and her best friend's daughter. Maddox worked so hard I was afraid it might take too long to have their HEA, but they can now work together to overcome financial obstacles.

L loved this story of love unrecognized. Neither Haley nor Maddox feel either is good enough for love, but as they help his young orphaned niece and his injured brother, each begins to come out of their blue funks and find their way. A delightful short — clean — novel. I received a free copy for an honest review. I very much enjoyed this story.

This is a nice novella with a good storyline and a fast moving, believable plot. Love the characters and it's a realistic story with good, clean characters but it isn't "preachy". You're going to fall in love with the characters and want the story to continue.

Kissed by a cowboy by Lacy Williams is a must read. It is cute, heartwarming, and endearing. The love interest of the main character sacrificed so much for family, that not many are willing to do, like Robert Frost, the road not easily taken.

Good & clean. No sex. No profanity. Great adventure. Read in one setting. Could not put the book down. Love the author. An epilogue at the end would have been great. Would recommend to all age groups.
