The Double Helix
The Double Helix

Review:Ok first off the actual book is in outstanding condition, no bends or tears or anything (i'm very picky about that) so that's why i'm giving the product 5/5. the content of this book is probably the most dry, boring, and frankly useless thing I've ever laid eyes on. I have to read this for a class and it's a STRUGGLE. If you enjoy science to an unnatural degree and you love reading three chapters of a man complaining about the people he works with for no reason then this is the book for you. the... Read more

Clinical Pathophysiology Made Ridiculously Simple
Clinical Pathophysiology Made Ridiculously Simple

Review:I don't have the credentials for an authoritative review, but M.D.'s and med students love this book and so do I as a pathophysiology book. It explains in real easy to read terms what my textbook by Barbara Gould definitely cannot do. Read more

Gray's Anatomy: Slip-case Edition
Gray's Anatomy: Slip-case Edition

Review:I'm disappointed and will likely be returning this edition of the classic and groundbreaking Gray's Anatomy.

Quite simply, the book is too small and the typeface is approaching microfilm size font.

I hate to complain but this is not the first time I have had this type of disappointment with a book from Amazon. It's like the books are printed to order on a poor quality printer. Gone are the days when a book could be a sensual experience with that new pages smell, the thick paper, th... Read more

The Surprising Connections Between Disease and Longevity (P.S.)
The Surprising Connections Between Disease and Longevity (P.S.)

Review:This book was amazing! It defines the role of genes as being dynamic, not static. When building the human genome, people had the idea that there is a fixed template called DNA. Initially, it seems to me, science likes to simplify everything, believing mutations are rare and random. This book clarifies the role of our genes' ability to adapt to different environments and how some genetic variations that seem to be curses are actually the mechanisms humans use to be able to survive in certain ... Clinical Microbiology Made Ridiculously Simple (Ed. 6)

Review:Book is an alright comprehensive coverage of the basics in microbiology. Good for resource in medical school. HOWEVER, I highly DO NOT recommend the purchase of the physical copy of the book. Many other classmates also purchased this book and we all had the same problem. Within the first week and a half of use, the book's binding starts falling apart and pages start falling out, starting from the back. RECOMMENDATION: purchase or find an electronic version of this book, the hard-copy of the book... Read more

3rd Edition (For Dummies (Math & Science)) - Anatomy and Physiology For Dummies
3rd Edition (For Dummies (Math & Science)) - Anatomy and Physiology For Dummies

Review:This book exceeded my expectations even though I do own many other FOR DUMMIES books. It starts out on what your body is made of and how cells reproduce and create energy. After a decent introduction to some cell biology it moves through each system of your body and tells you all about it and at the end list some common disorders and problems associated with it. I learned a lot about myself and how my body works. I would recommend for anybody interested in a good introduction to Anatomy & Ph... Read more

Grays Anatomy
Grays Anatomy

Review:book contains excellent information however the print is very small and at times it is difficult to read. the book being very thick makes it hard to open wide enough to comfortably read which you want with such a subject matter. i'd go next time with a larger size book. Read more

A Fact-Filled Coloring Book (Start Exploring (Coloring Books))
A Fact-Filled Coloring Book (Start Exploring (Coloring Books))

Review:This is not JUST an ordinary coloring book for the kiddies. I homeschool and our forensic science program suggested an overview of the human body before beginning this study. I had no idea at the wealth of information this "coloring book" contained. It is accurate and detailed with the pronunciation of hard terms in parenthesis.
Included are subjects such as holes in your head, the roof of your mouth, soft spots, the blink of an eye, shrugging your shoulders, disease fighters, pulse, eas... Read more
