Review:Jim Qwilleran is a little anxious. He wants - needs - the job he is interviewing for with the managing editor of the Daily Fluxion, circulation 427,463. A recently divorced man in his 40's, on the wagon, he hasn't had a steady job for a long time. He is looking for a fresh start as, hopefully, the crime reporter, his speciality before he hit the skids. When he accepts a position on the newspaper as the Art feature writer, he's grateful for the job, no matter how rueful he feels about the demotio... Read more
Review:This book was really disappointing. I think the title of this review says it all. This book was boring. There was no mystery to speak of and 90 % of the book is filled with trite dialog that could have been written by someone in junior high school. Way too much on what people were wearing or what they had for dinner. No one cares unless it adds to the plot. To many characters and subplots that go absolutely nowhere. This book is best read as a lesson on how not to write a story. Don't was... Read more
Review:I have read every book Lilian Jackson Braun ever wrote and enjoyed most of them. Yes the plots were always lame and the endings stupid, but I enjoyed the characters and at least the previous books HAD endings. In my life I imagine I've read thousands of mystery novels. In fact I am a professional writer myself. This was by far the worst I have EVER read and in fact I want my money back from the publisher! How dare the publisher put out a book that is unfinished! The mystery is never resolved! Th... Read more
Review:Qwill goes on a tour of Scotland, this time, leaving the cats behind. Doesn't matter. Koko still knows when mystery is afoot. He's yowling across the Atlantic at the same time their tour guide dies.
When I read a series this big, (29 books), I compare the books against each other, not other stories. This wasn't one of my favorites. There was a note of sadness that ran through the entire story that normally isn't present in these books. The character Melinda Goodwinter returns, and it isn'... Read more

Review:Witch family owns a donut shop, and the donuts have no calories! Well that sounds good. Friend finds out her boyfriend is cheating on her at a party and they break up. She then becomes the lead suspect in his murder. That's always a good plot. But... the book was hard to read, wooden, poorly edited, and made being a witch boring.
The good part. I'm sure the writer can get better, smoother, more interesting. It just will take classes and practice and joining a writing group. I real... Read more
Review:The concept has been done over and over, yet this one has a light hearted and easy way about it. There are useless characters like Cheryl and Alistair, but the rest are all valid and colorful. I wanted to see what was next.
Favorite part unique to this book by this author were the butterfly trees.
Good enough to warrant trying book 2!
Let's Hope Cassie nd Luca get more time as well as Stanley. Read more
Review:4.5 Stars / Top Pick
Sweet mercy what a glamorous murder mystery...southern style! I haven't read a cozy mystery quite this fun and entertaining in a long time. Hands down Duffy Brown knows how to write murder with a sense of humor.
Savannah, Georgia is a hot bed of gossip. Throw in a murder, a consignment shop, an assortment of towns folk and a Southern woman with a strong will to survive and you never know what you are going to get. Recently divorced Reagan Summerside is a charac... Read more
Review:I like all of Catherine Coulter FBI mystery books. I particularly like the ones with Savich and Sherlock. I enjoy the suspense and the
twists and turns in the books. They keep me guessing about the outcome. Read more
