Review:I have read Joanne Fluke's Hannah Swensen mysteries from book one and have loved them all. Her characters are believable and fun. I would recommend this mystery to anyone who likes a bit of humor with their mystery. Read more
Review:With the eighth installment of the Hannah Swensen series, Cherry Cheesecake Murder delivers strong. I was very excited by the story, characters and forward motion in this book.
The introduction of Ross as a new suitor for Hannah could have gone the wrong direction, but Ross combines the great attributes of Mike and Norman into a single man. I’m rooting for Ross to win Hannah’s love; and let’s get real, she needs to make a choice soon.
I’m only saying so because the story dictates h... Read more
Review:I have read all of Joanne Fluke mysteries to date. I have been getting them from the library and then typing the recipes I like into my computer before returning the book. I enjoy Hannah Swensen and I really enjoy the recipes. I have adapted them to a diabetic diet and they are great! When I found there were over a hundred pages of recipes in this book I was so pleased and decided to buy this one for my cookbook collection. I highly recommend all of the Hannah Swensen books if you like good... Read more
Review:Pretty engaging story. I liked it as a summer read. Not sure I'll continue with the series, though. The writing seems contrived here and there (too many adjectives) and the plot like had some highly unlikely twists and turns in there. But as I said, nice summer read. Read more
Review:Another wonderful book by Joanne Fluke. Enjoy all the recipes included in this book. Hannah is an individual we can all associate with. Pretty but not perfect. These are wonderful books for young readers as well. Read more
Review:Unfortunately Ms. Fluke seems to be running out of ideas for murders for Hanna to investigate. This one was very lacking in content compared to the others. There seemed to be more pages dedicated to recipes than written copy (on my kindle). I did not want a cookbook, I wanted a good mystery. I think it is time to have Hannah make up her mind between her 2 beaus and give her a rest. Read more
Review:I am very disappointed with the current Hannah Swensen novel. The elements that I liked in the author's previous novels are sadly missing. What happened to the small-town feel of this series? What we do have is a mystery that could have been told as a short story with fillers i. e.: numerous recipes, a discussion on peppers, a love square, twittering and cat stories. This novel was like the author phoned in the story. I want Hannah back! Read more
Review:This so-called "murder mystery" was my first introduction to the series and I only read it because my book club chose it. It was a fast, not too engrossing read that would be fine for a fifth-grader. It was too much like "Nancy Drew bakes" and I know I won't go out of my way to read anymore of Joanne Fluke's works. Review:Fear not, fans of Hannah and Norman (or even Hannah and Mike!) While Hannah did not marry either of them in this installment of my personal favorite cozy mystery series, I did find a woman on Facebook who met Joanne Fluke during an autograph signing. When she expressed her disdain that Hannah chose Ross, Ms. Fluke replied, "Remember...new people don't last long in Lake Eden!" It gave me hope! ;)
I have really liked all of the books in this series, which I know is a rather unpopular opinio... Read more
Review:Okay, so getting the cookie recipes is fun while impractical if you have these on Kindle.
The Cookie Jar sounds like a fun place to visit, but the people of Lake Eden must role down the sidewalk to get there if they eat cookies everyday.
The mysteries are fairly good because I usually can't figure them out.
I like the cat stories.
But the triangle relationship of Mike, Norman and Hannah? Please. If I were Mike or Norman I'd tell this chick to get her head together or move along. W... Read more
