Unfortunately Ms. Fluke seems to be running out of ideas for murders for Hanna to investigate. This one was very lacking in content compared to the others. There seemed to be more pages dedicated to recipes than written copy (on my kindle). I did not want a cookbook, I wanted a good mystery. I think it is time to have Hannah make up her mind between her 2 beaus and give her a rest.

Unfortunately I did not like this installment of the series as much as some of the others. The descriptions and dialog of the characters was so drawn out I felt the author was just trying to fill the pages to make it book length. While the recipes look interesting, again the comments/explanations make me think I'm in homemaking 101. The "mystery" of the story line was fine, but clues are obvious to the reader. Hannah's mother changing her wedding plans every chapter was just annoying after awhile. And again we are left hanging with not only a plan for Mother's wedding but with the legal troubles of Hannah. Plus it is time for Hannah to make a decision to marry someone and move on with the story of her life. Other cozy mysteries I read marry off the character or move on with new boyfriends. The books are just as interesting and more satisfying. I think this author needs to take a look at them and do something. Not sure if I will read any more of the Hannah Swensen series.

This almost seemed to be written by a 'ghost writer' as in some places the style was different as was Hannah. This does not mean I won't read the next Hannah Swensen mystery -- have to find out whether or not she marries!

Unfortunately I have to agree with the other negative reviews. I have also read the entire series and thoroughly enjoyed them in the beginning, but I have been dissatisfied with the last few and was very disappointed in this latest "Blackberry Pie Murder". I felt that the dialogue was stilted, there was no real mystery - I figured out who the girl was very early on, there were no "tense" scenes and there was no real ending, the book just stopped. I am also tired of the never-ending love triangle. There just wasn't any meat to this story.
It almost seems as though Ms. Fluke is tired of Hannah and doesn't want to put any time into writing her stories.

Once again, one of my favorite authors has written a great story. Don't plan on a lot of sleep when you start one of her books. The recipes are great, but a little had to manage on a kindle. Actually the book doesn't end, so Joanne when will the next one be ready?.

Love this series. But would love for Hannah to either choose between Norman and Mike or better yet have a new man come along. I did figure out things before the end this time. Looking forward to the next one!

Again we have the same old love triangle-which is really unbelievable after so many years. Norman and Mike should move on! But, for me, this cozy series is like an old pair of house slippers-a bit ratty, not too colorful, but comfy and hard to give up. I still look forward to the next book-

This series started as a fun read with some interesting characters but has turned into tiresome plots with the characters becoming increasingly annoying with each book. There was no mystery to this story and was so repetitive that I began to skip pages at a time just to get to the end. Enough of the cats already and the love triangle is beyond ridiculous. No self respecting men would hang around that long while Hannah tries to make up her mind. Like other reviewers have stated, I thought I had missing pages because of the way the book abruptly ended. It says something about the quality of writing if the author has to resort to this tactic to ensure that readers will return for the next book. I'll not be back. There are too many other quality stories to read to waste time on this series.

This is another series that I have collected since Book 1. AND, the only
series I collect in hard cover, as I don't want to wait a year for the newest
one to come out in paperback. And the store always has the newest ones
available (even for pre-order).

Like with all the others, Joanne Fluke has done an excellent job. Hannah was placed in a very delicate situation - one that could happen to most anyone who drives. Ms. Fluke's writing style has not changed - which is what I liked when I first read her and why I continue to read her books. Well written, light and fun - I love the recipes (as does my family and co-workers!). I did bake the Blackberry cookies - delicious! I hope that Joanne continues to write but I am ready for Norman or Mike to be "the one." I did enjoy this one especially because it stretched Hannah.

This is my least favorite Hannah Swensen mystery. There was no closure...I didn't like that at all.
I am also tired of the love Hannah, Norman, and Mike story. Pick one or move on for heaven's sakes.
