The breakthrough programme for conquering anxiety - anger and obsessiveness
The breakthrough programme for conquering anxiety - anger and obsessiveness

Review:I liked the book and found it very readable. While it did contain a fair amount of useful information, I feel like the same effect could have been achieved in a far fewer words. As other reviewers have noted, it also seems to be a shameless promotion for Amen Clinics. You will be encouraged to access their website for more content. I found nothing useful there that wasn't subscription based. Just an FYI.

If I had it to do over again, I would've popped for the book version. Referring back ... Read more

The Inner Game of Golf
The Inner Game of Golf

Review:For many years, people I play with have complained about my handicap. Yet I seldom play more than a stroke or two above or below my handicap. Yet during a round I will hit many fine shots seldom seen by someone with my handicap (a high one). Clearly, I must know what to do, but cannot do it consistently. People shake their heads at that explanation, and predict that my handicap will soon fall -- which it doesn't.
Having just read Mr. Gallwey's excellent book, The Inner Game of Work, I... Read more

and Redemption of the Black Athlete - The Rise

Review:Forty Million Dollar Slaves: The Rise, Fall, and Redemption of the Black Athlete

by journalist William C. Rhoden gives a no-holds barred, unadulterated low-down about highly paid black athletes and the juxtaposition of slavery. How did Rhoden come to the conclusion that most Black athletes are highly paid slaves? He starts off methodically detailing the history of African Americans sports dating back to the plantation when slaves were a commodity; property to be used for entertainment as ... Read more

Everything from rowing, volleyball, soccer, baseball, softball, basketball, skiing, track, high jump, chess, and dogsledding are covered. Really great read overall. I've recommended it to all of my friends. Read more

How It All Began: A Novel
How It All Began: A Novel

Review:My first Peneope Lively but eager to read more. The author treats each character with such a gentle unconditional love, that even when I wanted to be annoyed with them, I gave them a break because of who she had shown me they were. The story, I thought, was masterful and creative; full of beautiful well thought out words. Loved the end which is not an end at all. I am not an reviewer per se, as one can tell, won't go ito plot except to say it was clever and very believable. Read more

from America's Brightest Prodigy to the Edge of Madness

Review:It was a pleasure to read this Fischer's biography. As a chess amateur, while studying the game I also liked to study the life to the greatest chess players from the past and Fischer had a strange resemblance with Jesus Christ life : No one seems to know a period of his life.

This book covers those "voided years" like when he stopped playing for near two years to return so strong that was well above any of his peers and also what happened to him after went into oblivion after achieving wh... Read more

A Life Without Limits: A World Champion's Journey

Review:This book was inspirational from start to end. Living up to her muppet nickname, Chrissie Wellington shows how mind overcomes matter with the most amazing outcomes. The determination and sheer bull-headedness has taken her to the top of her game. She has given me the courage to live life a little more and to hold back a lot less. Read more
