Animal Infections and the Next Human Pandemic
Animal Infections and the Next Human Pandemic

Review:I enjoyed this book immensely, if one can "enjoy" a discourse that warns of all the infectious epidemic hazards we threaten ourselves with by altering our ecosystem. As a physician not intimately familiar with zoonotic disease, I found Quammen's accounts of those disease processes particularly interesting and well-described. No scientific training is required to understand everything he writes.

I have only two quibbles: First, I did have a bit of trouble following some of his timelines, a... Read more

Review:I bought the eBook version of this for school. The product description says it's compatible with Kindle for PC, but it never downloads, and I can't read it on my computer. I can read it in Kindle Cloud reader, but it doesn't display very well, plus I have to be online to access it. This is very strange, as I've downloaded three free eBooks from Amazon, and have no problems accessing them.

As far as the difference between MLA 7th and 8th editions is concerned, I can't speak to that. My pro... Read more

The Hidden Battles to Collect Your Data and Control Your World

Review:lots of good points and calls for political action. Not the easiest book to read though (it was a slog to finish it).

Wong's Nursing Care of Infants and Children - 9th Edition
Wong's Nursing Care of Infants and Children - 9th Edition

Review:Book details described as "New." The book I received seemed fairly new. Dirty back, scratch on front cover, damaged spine. These textbooks are expensive, and I was upset the quality of the book I received was not new. Not happy with what I received but needed the textbook immediately so I kept it. If it wasn't for needing the book for class, I would've returned it. Not happy with my experience. Read more

Dark Territory: The Secret History of Cyber War
Dark Territory: The Secret History of Cyber War

Review:Still reading the book but already found some errors that detract from my enjoyment of the material.

You'd think a book about cybersecurity would at least use a proofreader or editor that would know the difference between a silicon "die" and "dye".

They also clearly didn't get a good enough explanation of things like BGP and denial-of-service attacks. I found this disheartening. Read more
