Review:I used the older version of this when I was in PA school to help prep me for the PANCE exam. After practicing for 4 years, I thought I would buy the newer version for a refresher and to get some CME hours in. I was disappointed. As mentioned in many of these other reviews, there are quite a few typos. I even noticed a couple of the review questions have the wrong answer (in the book- I haven’t logged in the online portion yet). I just would think those would’ve been caught during the editin... Review:This book is well organized, gives lots of practical and concrete tips, and is very easy to read (almost too easy). When I got it, I was a little shocked how simply it was written. However, now that I'm referring to it often, I am grateful for its simplicity. Read more
Review:Its required text for my RN program. It wasn't until recently I was forced to crack it open when my go to HESI book did not have specific question choices for the chapters I was to be tested on. I read over the matching chapters in this book and It simplified and condensed all the info I needed. The questions from the online companion were SPOT ON for my exam. I've been converted. I like this book now. Read more
Review:This book is rated 4 only because I have not read it as yet. I fully expect it to be an excellent addition to the Dissertation Guidebook by Rudestam and Newton. Students who are going through the process of obtaining a doctoral degree need all the help they can get to fulfill the requirements with gusto and expertise. Read more
Review:It came extremely recommended and I just found it alright. The famous lobster essay, was second to the essay on the bit of new journalism he did in his coverage of the porno Oscars in Las Vegas. A very crafty writer who doesn't mind coming up out of the text and challenging the reader. He's also not afraid to write with flair. I'll read him again. Read more
Review:My MBA financial accounting teacher suggested we read this prior to starting her class. It starts out very basic and I thought, "wow, if you don't know this stuff maybe an MBA is not for you." But as I continued to read it I was pleasantly surprised as to how much I learned. I must admit some of the writing is a bit hokey, but the lessons are easily learned. Read more
Review:Other ratings said that there was definitions of some of the old world words at the bottom of the pages which is why I bought this particular version. There is not, the defintions are in the back of the book which make it harder to read for someone not versed in old English. Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars. Read more
Review:the educational system in brazilian schools have drifted perhaps irremediably from the liberal arts. the situation is so bad, we ended up not far from african countries at civil war in international test scores. by
appealing to the foundations of the intelectual thinking, this book shows the way to the higher strata. Read more
Review:Don't believe the editorial review by Gilbert Taylor. Sagan only mentions Pat Robertson in passing. It was actually sort of a footnote about how the televangelist got his fanatical anti-abortion viewers to skew the results of a phone survey.
The phrase "billions and billions" is not really Sagan's "cliche", because he never actually said it. But Sagan's description about how that fallacy got started is actually very amusing, so I can't imagine why someone would call it "flat", but I get t... Read more
